Ugly Betty Episode 3-10

TV.com: Bad Amanda - Amanda and Betty are forced to work together for an article called “How I Blew Ten Grand Without Spending a Dime.”

-

Recap & Review: ABC’s original programming took a week off last week for the Thanksgiving holiday, but the shows are back. This week, we see Betty dealing with the fact that Amanda has moved in and has taken over her apartment rent free. She isn’t pay one dime in rent, and she is eating all of Betty’s food. This isn’t something that Betty appreciates, but she doesn’t say anything. Hilda pushes her to say something, and she tries. However, Amanda works her way out of paying anything once again.

Betty hopes to help fix her money issues by asking for more overtime at Mode. However, those opportunities are gone with the state of the economy. There is something else though. Betty can pitch an idea for Mode’s new website. What she pitches puts everyone to sleep though. Amanda pitches a similar idea, jazzing up Betty’s idea, and they are assigned to work together. Amanda’s idea includes spending a night on the town spending other people’s money. It seems to be something she is good at with how she got out of paying Betty for food and rent.

The two start to work on the article. Free samples, clothes they plan to return and dinner with two rich men. These two end up being left with the check, and Betty must think fast. She is able to get out of paying the check by using the Mode name. However, the two men just didn’t leave them with the check. They also stole the rent money and Amanda’s wallet. This puts Betty into a bind. Betty does work out an article, and Daniel loves it. He even offers her advance that should cover her rent. Amanda does get a second job though. The two seem to have come to some kind of understanding.

As for Connor, his fiance, Wilhelmina and Daniel. Wilhelmina is embarrassed over what happened in Key Largo. She babbles whenever he walks into the room. As for the fiance, Daniel seems to be getting closer to her as well. When she asks him to help with a charity event, he backs out at the last minute when his mother warns him about infidelity. However, these two get even closer when she shows up to pick up his donation. When she spills food on her dress, he offers her one from Mode’s racks, and the two share amount. One where they almost kiss. This moment is even caught on video and Wilhelmina has it on tape. She plans to use it get Connor for herself.

Ugly Betty seems to be move up in the world, and the promo for future episodes seems to show this. However, not all will be perfect. It wouldn’t be Betty’s life if it was. I like Betty and Amanda. They seem to make the perfect kind of odd couple in this series.  I want to see how the two of them continue on together. What did you think of this week’s episode of Ugly Betty? Ugly Betty Episode 3-9

betty3-9.jpg

TV.com: When Betty Met YETI - Marc and Betty compete against each other for the Young Editors Training Program but only one spot is available. Daniel learns he is drawn towards Molly. Wilhelmina attempts to get Connor to notice her.

-

Recap & Review: I have been a fan of Ugly Betty since the beginning of the series. This series, in season three, is not the same series that it once was. It is still a great series, but the changes we’ve seen in the past two months are definitely making the series change. We’ve seen Alexis go as Rebecca Romijn went on maternity live. Betty lost two male suitors at the start of the season, and both played big parts of what made last year interesting. Some might even say Ugly Betty moving its production form Los Angeles to Manhattan changed the series. It is still enjoyable though.

This week’s episode starts at the beginning of another typical day for Betty. Amanda is still staying at her apartment, and she has turned Betty into her own personal slave. This doesn’t set too well with Betty, and she tells Amanda this. Amanda doesn’t see a problem though. However, Betty’s day gets better when a former Mode employee returns, and he tells Betty all about a program he took part in called YETI or Young Editors Training Initiative. It was his ticket to becoming an editor, and Betty wants that more than anything.

She moves forward to apply to the program, but when she meets with one of the program advisers, she learns she only has 48 hours to put together her presentation, - a magazine she has to create herself. She gets right to work on creating a fashion magazine, but this says nothing about what she is. Everyone she tells obviously feels the same way. When you see Betty, you don’t see fashion magazine kind of girl. The problem is she learns someone else is also doing a fashion magazine, Marc.

This spells trouble for Betty. In fact, she even quits while she is ahead. However, her family pushes her forward to do what she should have done from the beginning - a magazine that shows her. Her magazine is B Magazine. A magazine that talks to young women about being themselves. Marc arrives though, and once again we have trouble. Marc has everything, including an entire magazine. However, Betty learns quickly that she was accepted into the program. Marc wasn’t, even with all that he did. Marc tells her though she was picked because of her ethnicity, and that’s all. She confirms this with a call to YETI. This takes a bit of the glory of acceptance away from her. Betty decides to drop out, and she gives her spot to Marc. However, Daniel puts a call in and tells the program also worked for another magazine that year, so both her and Marc could get in.

As for Wilhelmina, she has her eye on Connor, and she is ready to do anything to get him. Her first order of business is to get Connor out of town. She puts a meeting in Florida that she just needs him to attend. However, Molly is upset that he is backing out of a presentation to her class. To help, Connor asks Daniel to speak to Molly’s class. Daniel goes, and he and Molly once again hit it off. In Florida, Wilhelmina tries to work her magic over Connor, getting dinner out of him. The two talk over dinner. We end up seeing the two get closer along with the same happening with Daniel and Molly. However, Connor puts a stop to it.

Justin is also dealing with his own life as well. He has made friends with Randy. The two hang out a lot, and it looks like the two are becoming great friends. However, Randy becomes uncomfortable with their friendship, and when Justin offers to take him to a Broadway show, Randy tells him they need to stop seeing each other. This upsets Justin, and he decides not to go to the Broadway show. However, after he and his mother talk he takes her.

This episode wasn’t much on the humor, but a lot on the heart. That can work just as well with a series. Daniel once again comes through for Betty when she needs him most, and while Connor stopped Wilhelmina, Daniel and Molly get closer. No new episode next week. Ugly Betty will return after Thanksgiving. What did you think of this week’s episode of Ugly Betty? To find daily television listings, check here .

Ugly Betty Episode 3-8

TV.com: Tornado Girl -  Betty tries to prevent an issue of Mode from shipping because it can result in a PR mess for the magazine. Meanwhile, Hilda’s business license is denied by the city, forcing her to go to other means to keep her salon alive.
-
Recap & Review:  Ugly Betty has had a bumpy season. With the entrance and exit of Lindsay Lohan, the departure of Rebecca Romijn, and new faces coming to the cast, this series is going through some changes. With the series also now filming in New York City, this is also causing some changes. Some are saying that this third season isn’t as strong as the previous two. I find myself still enjoying it.

This week, the editors are off to a retreat, while the assistants are left behind to play at Meade. Betty is given the final approval on the issue when Daniel leaves. She takes the responsibility seriously, and she approves it. However, when she gets back to the office, she finds out a major tornado has hit Kansas. On the cover of the issue is tornado girl. She tries to stop the issue from shipping, but she is only given four hours to reach Daniel or Wilhelmina. However, Claire suggested everyone give up their phones at the retreat.

Betty is trying to reach the editors, and she finally takes a road trip with Amanda and Mark. She does this after Hilda calls her from home. She has been denied her business permit for the salon, but she has the idea to make an underground salon. Betty doesn’t think this is a good idea. She probably should have thought about the road trip too because their ends up being an accident. She then tries to find another way to the retreat. When that doesn’t work, she uses skywriting to get through to Daniel. It costs them, but it works. She is able to get through to him, and he tells her he will call the loading dock.

However, Wilhelmina has another idea. She lets the issue move forward, and she talks Daniel into doing the same. It turns out to ruin Betty’s name, but the issue becomes the highest selling issue of Mode in its history. This is just what they needed to bring Meade out of its problems. As for Betty, she tries to help Hilda get her permit, even giving an passionate speech to the councilman for their area. The councilman actually comes through, and he finds a loophole that will let Hilda get a permit. She needs to sell things along with the hair cutting.

After this, she works on finding out why the issue still went out as it was originally shot. She finds out Daniel called to ship the issue. This hurts Betty, and she confronts Daniel. He tells Betty it had to be done. To make it up to Betty, Daniel confesses what he did on television, and then he says all profits from the issue will go to tornado relief. As for Mark, he has something to confess himself. He cheated on Cliff, and that is why he proposed. Betty talks him into being honest. He is, but we don’t see the result of it.

This episode just felt slow to me for some reason. Not much humor. More dramedy than comedy. This series has lost a bit of its earlier spark to me, but it can get it back. It just need a little work. Some new cast additions are coming up in the weeks ahead as well. They might shake things up in a good way. What did you think of this week’s episode of Ugly Betty? Ugly Betty Episode 3-7

TV.com: Crush’d - Wanting to grasp the attention of her neighbor Jesse, Betty decides to work overtime. Meanwhile, Amanda becomes Betty’s roommate when the former finds herself in financial instability, and Cliff proposes that he and Marc move in together.

-

Recap & Review: Last week, we saw the exit of Lindsay Lohan from Ugly Betty, and it looks like the series already is replacing that spot by bringing in Nikki Blonsky from Hairspray. She filmed her first episodes on Halloweem, and she will play an assistant from rival magazine Elle. She will befriend Betty, but it will turn out that will not have the best of intentions. This week, the focus returns to Betty’s love life, as she finally admits to herself that she has a crush on her neighbor Jesse.

She even goes to great lengths to have the two of them bump into each other. She does all she can to get time with him, including offering him her television. That plan goes bust though when Amanda shows up on her doorstep ready to move in. She had been staying at the Mode offices after she was evicted from her apartment. Betty can’t say no to her, but this messes up her plans.

Her next plan is to invite him to the Mode party, but he misunderstands her and thinks she is asking him to play him at the party with his band. However, Daniel and their new CFO just brought in Mariah Carey to perform at the party. That CFO, Conor, is already Mr. Popularity. Wilhelmina already knows she was played by Daniel when Conor came in, and now she is trying to get rid of him.

Amanda has a plan to save Betty. Jesse’s band can perform at an after party that she can charge people to get into and pay her bills off. Amanda takes charge of the party plans, trying to make it the It place to be, while Wilhelmina meets with Conor. As it turns out, she develops a bit of a crush on her own when it comes to the new head of Meade’s finances. She doesn’t even use the information Marc dug up for her.

Marc is a bit on edge himself with Cliff asking him to move in together. He totally avoids Cliff after he asks.He is nervous about taking such a huge step forward, and Cliff finally just pulls the offer off the table. He finally talks to Cliff at the party, and in an impulsive moment Marc proposes. The party moves forward on Betty’s roof. Betty starts to think the guy she likes has a crush on her, especially when he dedicates a song to a special someone. As it turns out that special someone was Amanda because Betty catches the two of them kissing. Betty kicks Amanda out, but has a change of heart not long after. These two look to be set to become roomies.

As for Conor and Meade, Daniel confronts him on the fact Conor is trying to sell off some of the company’s magazines. He thinks Conor is in cahoots with Wilhelmina, but Conor stands up to the both of them, and he dashes Wilhelmina’s crush in all of a few minutes. He decides to stick around the company, and Wilhelmina deals with the fact he is engaged. She can’t use him, and neither can Daniel.

Once again, Betty has problems with her love life. This should be no great shock, but it was nice to see Wilhelmina not get what she wants either. I half expected her to bed Conor and bring him to her side of things, but Conor stood on his own feet and he won’t let either side use him. This might make for an interesting cast addition after all. We needed someone to come in after the series lost Alexis. What did you think of this week’s episode of Ugly Betty? For daily tv listings, check here .

Ugly Betty Episode 3-6

TV.com: Ugly Berry - Betty has a competition with Kimmie. Ignacio decides to vote for the first time ever. Hilda takes advantage of the election traffic to be able to promote her shop. Meanwhile, Wilhelmina tries to hire a new financial officer whom Daniel hates.

-

Recap & Review: Lindsay Lohan has come in and turned Betty’s world upside down as Kimmie Keegan. She has moved higher up in the ranks than Betty has in the entire time she has been there. She is now an associate editor while Betty is still an assistant without a business card. Kimmie has come in and changed things. She’s made friends with Daniel and everyone else already. As for Daniel, his mother tells him and Wilhelmina that Meade Publications is in trouble. She says they need a person in charge of finances before Meade goes under.

Betty finds her voice finally, and she decides to pitch an idea for an issue of Mode. She stumbles over it, but she still manages to get the job. With the help of her father, she finds the tico berry as her fruit of choice. It also happens to be the fruit of choice of model Adriana Lima, and this lands a huge deal for Mode. Adriana will be their cover girl, and Betty will be the point person on the shoot. This also leads Daniel to cut Kimmie’s part of the issue out. Score one for Betty. Now its war.

This deal even lands Betty a spot on fashion television, and Kimmie offers to help her out. She messes with the lighting, and this ends up having Betty mess up. Kimmie comes in to save the tv spot, and Wilhelmina and Daniel bring her in to help Betty with the cover. Kimmie wants Betty gone before the shoot. Gone for good. As for Meade, Wilhelmina is working to find the company a new CFO. She thinks she has found one, Conor Owens, but he and Daniel have a heated past together it seems. Daniel won’t listen to her bringing him, and he won’t listen to Betty when she mentions her issues with Kimmie either.

Amanda and Mark both approach Betty about getting Kimmie fired, but she decides to take the high road.  That is until Kimmie gets ahead with Adriana Lima.  When Kimmie calls her just someone’s assistant, Betty joins forces with Amanda and Mark, and she goes into war mode. They figure out to remove the necklace Wilhelmina brought in for the shoot. Kimmie will be the one to do it, and this will cause her problems. As for Wilhelmina, she brings in Conor Owens, and I think we have found the one person that Daniel hates more than Wilhelmina. On the way to the shoot, Daniel surprises Wilhelmina by calling Conor and offering him a job with Meade.

At the photo shoot, Kimmie goes head to head with Wilhelmina, and she lose her job in the process. Betty did have a change of heart and tried to warn her, but Kimmie wouldn’t listen. As her final act, Kimmie throws out the tico berries they need for the shoot just before Adriana Lima arrives. Betty does remember there was tico berries in the gift box she left her, and this is the berry they use in the shoot.

As for Betty’s family, most of the action surrounds the upcoming election. Ignacio is voting for the first time, and Hilda is running an election special. However, when the last client of the night comes in she gets a lesson in the law. One that will shut her down for a bit. Talking of shutting someone down, what is up with Conor and Daniel? Did these two just pull one on Wilhelmina. We will have to wait and see. This was a good episode for Ugly Betty, and we see the exit of Lindsay Lohan it looks like. She was never much of a fit with the show. Conor’s entrance now has me curious. What is Daniel up to? We’ll find out next week! What did you think of this week’s episode? Ugly Betty Episode 3-5

305_002.jpg

TV.com: Granny Pants - Kimmie asks Betty for help when she finds herself in need of a job. Meanwhile, Justin auditions for a Broadway musical, and Daniel signs up for a matchmaking service but finds a surprising result with regards to his match.

-

Recap & Review:  Today was an exciting day behind the scenes at Ugly Betty. Lindsay Lohan had her role on the series axed. Apparently, she was causing too much trouble on set, and her being there was causing more problems than helping. She had signed on to appear in six episodes, but ABC has said the scenes she has already shot will be cut out of the series. A Lindsay Lohan fansite has come out denying this story. They say ABC wanted to go in another direction, and Lindsay didn’t fit. With how much they hyped her appearance on this episode, they did need to keep her scenes in this week.

This week’s episode opens with a photo shoot at Mode, which looks like a real war zone. This war zone mimics the one at Mode because Daniel and Wilhelmina both have ideas about the Valentine’s Day spread. Daniel wants war, and Wilhelmina wants puppies. Daniel is throwing himself to work in order to not think about losing Daniel Jr.  Betty returns to her desk to find Kimmie waiting for her. She wants Betty to help her get a job at Mode. Kimmie went forward and quit her job. Daniel walks in right then, and he offers Kimmie a job. He thinks he is helping Betty out. However, this is the last thing she wants. She goes to complain to Christina, and she tells her friend all about things in high school. Apparently, Kimmie pantsed Betty back in high school.

As for Justin, at high school he is getting ready to audition for Broadway. Hilda and Ignacio work to help him for his audition. That night at dinner, Betty tells her family about Kimmie, and how she plans to make her life hell, but Betty’s dad tells her that she should be the bigger person. In the end that is what she decides to do. She will turn Kimmie into the perfect assistant. Betty goes to work on doing just that. Kimmie can’t even say Wilhelmina’s name when Betty starts with her.  As for Claire, she tries to help Daniel deal with the loss of his son. He doesn’t even want to talk about it. Having DJ has made him want to have a family of his own. His biological clock is kicking. Kimmie does seem to be learning quickly. She even asks Betty out clubbing after she spent time working on Daniel’s contacts.

Daniel decides to leave his next woman to the professionals. He uses a dating service to find a date. Betty’s night out is ruined after Amanda takes over where Kimmie is concerned. She takes her to the closet, and Kimmie ends up inviting Amanda and Mark on their night out. Once she does this, Betty gets left out. Daniel has his own night out with his first date from the dating service, and his match is a shock. When he arrives, he finds Wilhelmina waiting for him. You can tell she is just as shocked. The two end up stuck together on the cruise for dinner. The two of them do figure out how to get the boat to turn back.

Betty thinks her night is ruined, and she is ready to head home. However, Kimmie comes out and they are off to the next club on their list. She has ditched Mark and Amanda at the first one. They end up staying out all night, and Kimmie is the first to arrive. She end brings Mode back onto Page Six. She tells Betty that she tried texting her, but Betty never received it. Not until long after Kimmie sent it. Betty thinks Kimmie is trying to repeat high school. She even pants Kimmie before Kimmie gets the opportunity. This all backfires though. Much like Daniel’s date night, and Justin’s audition for Broadway. The part goes to a smaller boy.  As for Kimmie, she ends up being promoted to associate editor after Betty mentions she could do promotion for the magazine. This isn’t what Betty had in mind though.

With all the Lindsay Lohan rumors today, it is hard to know what is what. This episode firmly plants Kimmie at Mode, but we know Kimmie is out. This will make things odd in the series, and I am curious to see how ABC explains her absence in future episodes. What do you think? Was Lindsay a diva or did ABC go another way? This episode was a bit chaotic, but still keeping with what we know of Betty. I enjoyed this week’s episode. What did you think? Remember check What’s Hot On TV for your television listings daily!

Ugly Betty Episode 3-4

betty304.jpg

TV.com: Betty Suarez Land - Daniel is shocked by recent family news. Meanwhile, Betty tries to apologize to Gio after he returns, but he refuses to have any of it.

-

Recap & Review: Last week, we saw the exit of Alexis from Ugly Betty after she pushed Christina down a flight of stairs. Alexis is going to recurring status, a decision that was made at the end of last season. This was before Rebecca Romijn announced her pregnancy. She is not leaving without telling Daniel one more thing. This week, in jail Alexis tells Daniel she is the father of his son, Daniel Jr. She promises to keep that fact secret, but he is still not thrilled about this news. As for Betty, she finally gets to see her friend and favorite sandwich maker, Gio.

He is back from his trip to Rome, and she expects all to be well. However, this isn’t the case. He has returned full of hate for Betty. She doesn’t understand that, so she goes to Daniel about it. He is icing his hand, but he won’t tell Betty why. She then asks him to call in a favor, so she can make it up to Gio. We also learn that Alexis gets off with just community service. Wilhelmina calls in her own favor though, and she gets the charge bumped up to attempted murder. This episode seems to be full of favors. Claire decides to call her own from the prosecutor, but Wilhelmina has already reached him.  Daniel has his own issues though. Daniel’s grandparents found out Alexis is Daniel Jr.’s father.

They have been given custody of Daniel Jr., and Daniel needs to hide the boy before the grandparent’s arrive if he has any hope of keeping him. He asks Betty to hide the boy for him. She takes him to her apartment, where she tricks Gio to visiting. She tries to make things up to her. However, she only upsets him more. The cheese doesn’t even help. Betty really broke his heart. The grandparents arrive at Betty’s apartment, and she decides to make a quick getaway with the help of Gio. Wilhelmina tries to talk Alexis into once again screwing over Daniel. She won’t do it though.

Daniel knows Betty is on her way to hide DJ, and Tony’s wife has shown up at Betty’s apartment right before they all leave. She thinks Tony is having an affair with Betty. She tells all this to Hilda. Tony did finally tell his wife he was in love with someone else. His wife wants to fight for him though.  Daniel finally tells Betty he is not DJ’s dad, and the boy overhears this. When he does, he runs off. Daniel  plans to run off with DJ in order to keep him. He even tells Betty that Alexis is DJ’s father. Betty becomes the voice of reason here though. She talks Daniel out of his plan. Claire has a plan of her own. She will talk Alexis into selling her shares to Wilhelmina. Both Wilhelmina and Daniel will run Meade and Mode together as equal partners. Daniel is saying good-bye to his son when all of this is happening.

Tony comes to see Hilda, and she has a change of heart. She can’t be the reason why he leaves his wife. She sends him away. DJ goes with his grandparents, and Alexis is freed from jail. She doesn’t stay around though. This is where we finally see her exit. She is off to France, and Daniel even tells her to spend some time with DJ while she is there. The episode ends with the families together. Betty is with her family to support Hilda, and the Meade are together to see Alexis off. This was a good episode. Touching and funny. We see Gio return and Alexis leave. Word is Gio is not returning for good. DJ and Alexis are both gone, so you have to wonder what is in store next week. Lindsay Loan does appear on next week’s episode, so that should be interesting! What did you think of this episode of Ugly Betty?

Review: Ugly Betty Episode 3-3

TV.com: Crimes of Fashion - Everyone at Mode is stunned when an accident occurs. Later on, Betty tries to figure out what really happened when a detective comes by with the same purpose. Meanwhile, Ignacio is shocked when he learns a truth about Hilda and Coach Diaz.

-

Review: Last week, Mode say the return of Daniel, Wilhemina got the boot, and we saw Christina pushed down the stairs. All of this, plus the usual Suarez family drama as Betty found out Hilda was having an affair with a married Coach Diaz. This week, the focus us on just who pushed Christina down the stairs at the end of last week’s episode. The episode opens with Betty being questioned by the cops. When she is asked about Daniel’s location at the time of the incident, we then jump to six hours earlier. We get to see Betty start her day at home and at Mode. Daniel tells her he left the party early. She then finds out about Christina when Mark makes an announcement. However, the baby she is carrying is fine. Wilhemina wants the person behind the attack found.

This is where we return to Betty being questioned. She tells the truth about Daniel leaving the party early and asking her to lie. This leads the officer to think Daniel is responsible for the attack. Betty goes home to visit her family, and she ends talking to Hilda about Coach Diaz. Hilda asks her sister for the key to her apartment. She needs a place to spend some time alone with Tony. The next morning at Mode, the cops come to question Daniel, and after they find his one of kind sneakers, they take him into custody for the attack of Christina. Wilhemina visits Christina at the hospital, and she uses her as PR for her own benefit. Meanwhile, Daniel tries to convince Betty of his innocence.

Hilda is at Betty’s apartment with Tony, and when she leaves Tony to shower she returns to find her father and Tony together. Tony tries to get dressed, but in the process he drops his wedding ring. This lets the affair out of the bag. Christina talks to Betty, and she tells her that she thinks Stuart might have been the one to push her down the stairs. Betty convinces her to tell the police. Stuart and Betty talk, and he tells her the treatment Christina worked for him to get failed, and that is the reason he is back on drugs, to fight the pain. Betty keeps working to free Daniel. She tries to find the security tapes, but they are gone. She then goes to Mode and she finds out Mark might have pushed Christina, and he had seen Claire fighting with Christina.

Betty questions Claire, and she finds out that Claire had a few too many drinks. Christina and Alexis help her to the ladies room. Mark and Amanda keep up the interrogations with Betty. They learn a lot about the staff of Mode in the process, but instead of clearing Daniel it starts to make it look like he really did it. When Betty finds the security tape in Daniel’s things, and she really begins to think he did it. She returns home, and her father convinces her to watch the tape to find out what happened. When she does, she finds out Daniel is innocent and having an affair that might jeopardize his custody of Daniel Jr. By talking to him, she finds out Alexis is the one responsible for Christina’s fall.

Betty confronts her on it, and Alexis confesses to her. She tells her every last details, explaining it as some moment of temporary insanity. Alexis confesses to all, and she decides to surrender to the cops. Before she goes, she lets out one more family secret. Alexis is Daniel Jr’s father. Another amazing episode full of twists, turns and secrets. What do you think of the episode?

Review: Ugly Betty Episode 3-2

113642-0814-ful1.jpg

TV.com: Filing for the Enemy - Wilhelmina, now preparing for her first issue as editor, puts Betty in a difficult situation when she offers her a job as her assistant. Meanwhile, Christina becomes suspicious of Stuart’s true intentions, Daniel faces a custody battle to keep Daniel Jr. in the United States, and Hilda’s romance with Coach Diaz reaches a new level of hotness.
-

Review: Ugly Betty continues its season with Betty increasingly unhappy with her new position at Player Magazine. It isn’t exactly the type of magazine she saw herself working for. When sees Daniel going through the Mode magazine mock up, she uses it as an opportunity to try to get them both back in at Mode. She shows Alexis Daniel’s notes on the issue, and Alexis takes them to Wilhelmina.

This causes the woman’s mind to work, and she decides to eliminate the Betty issue by bringing her back in as her personal assistant at Mode. This looks like an issue of keeping your friends close and your enemies even closer. Betty isn’t willing to leave Daniel though. She sees it as cheating. She talks to her family about it before going to Daniel, but Wilhelmina tells him first. This ends up causing an argument between the two, and Betty ends up back at Mode.

Daniel has bigger problems on his hands than losing Betty though. Daniel Jr.’s grandparents have gone to court for custody in France. This upsets Daniel, but he will fight for his son. That is kind of shocking to see. Is Daniel starting to change? Anything is possible. Betty back at Mode without Daniel is odd to see, but she jumps right in and makes a suggestion to a client looking for advertising. She immediately wins the client over, and Wilhelmina seems pleased.

Betty still isn’t completely happy though. Wilhelmina sends her on what might be an impossible, but she is able to complete it. Christina practically begs her to stay at Mode, and she even tells Betty she thinks her husband is still using drugs. When Betty completely Wilhelmina’s test, she decides to make Betty her protégé. This upsets Mark. He has gone down in the pecking order. Even with this, Betty goes to him to help her with the launch party.

Mark does go far though, comparing Betty to Wilhelmina. This sends Betty into a day dream of what her life would be like if she was Wilhelmina. While working towards the launch party, Wilhelmina gives Betty mail to shred, and all these letters show Daniel in a positive light. Betty takes them to Daniel, but it doesn’t help. Daniel does finally talk to his son, and his son wants to remain with his father in the States. At the party, Betty gives Wilhelmina her two week notice. This is just before Daniel and Alexis arrive to announce that Daniel is returning to Mode.

Hilda is continuing on with Coach Diaz. She knows he is married, and it is getting to her. She tries to hide it from her family, when he goes to Mode to see Betty, he leaves his cell phone behind. This allows Betty to find out Hilda’s secret. The two sisters end up fighting over it. Tony and Hilda do make plans for a romantic date, but these are ruined when his wife stays in instead of going out. This shows Hilda this might not be the best relationship for her.

At the end of the episode, we see Christina pushed down the stairs. Will she lose Wilhelmina’s Meade heir? We’ll have to see what happens and who did it next week! Another great episode for Ugly Betty. Things are back to normal with Daniel once again in charge of Mode. What did you think of the episode?

Review: Last season, we were left with some cliffhangers when it came to Ugly Betty. Betty needed to choose to marry Henry or go to Rome with Gio. The hot coach needed to choose between Hilda and his wife and we all needed to know what would happen with Daniel’s new son and the future of Mode. With Rebecca Romijn taking a step back from her role as Alexis and now waiting to give birth to twins, this decision will probably be the first and fastest made. Have you seen Rebecca Romin lately? She is as big as a house.

However, we learn that Betty has made some decisions about her life. She turned down both men, and then went on a trip across the country.  We start the season with her return. She has some plans for her life, including moving into an apartment in the city. Her father is working at a burger joint with a former classmate of Betty. This doesn’t look good for Betty’s dad. There have also been changes at Mode.

Wilhemina has taken over Mode magazine, turned Daniel’s office into a nursery, and sent Daniel down to Player Magazine, which is the 3rd best selling men’s magazine in the country, and the magazine is totally different than Mode. As for Mode, Alexis decides to cut them off and to focus on Hot Flash. This sets a plan by Wilhemina into motion. Meanwhile, Betty goes to get her first apartment. She rents one sight unseen, and this is one big mistake. The apartment is a mess.

We next see the happenings at the two magazines. Wilhemina finds a way to dig Hot Flash a hole by taking Alexia on Regis & Kelly, and at Player Betty’s first big task is the biker babes of Player. One is scared off, and Betty decides to take her place. Another mistake. She ends up in a vat of some red liquid. After this happens, she goes back to her apartment to wait for some work to be done. However, the handy man never shows.

This isn’t the only problem though. Hilda calls Betty, and they find Betty’s old high school bully working at their dad’s job. They end up in a fight that gets Betty’s dad fired. Betty returns home, and her father helps her realize she is on the right path, even if it isn’t easy. Growing up isn’t easy. The next day Betty goes to the burger joint to apologize to Kimmie. The two talk and work things out. She even gives her dad his job back. A little bit of work by the family, a talk between the two Daniel’s and all is well in Mahattan this week. What did you think of the return of Ugly Betty?
