A big news day yesterday if you are a fan of television! First off, we have news of the date ABC will bring back Lost. 2010 will mark the start of the sixth and final season of the series. That date has been set for February 2nd. Where we will have a two hour season premiere to kick things off. Looks like we might be set for one amazing ending when this one returns with so many faces returning in this final season including Ian Somerhalder and Emilie de Ravin.
Also announced yesterday by Oprah is the end of her syndicated talk show. She will end her series in September 2011. The date currently set for the end is September 9th, 2011, which is the day after her twenty-fifth anniversary. Over twenty years, and it is time to bring it to an end. I haven’t watched in years, minus a few times when she had some of my favorite celebrities as guests. Will you miss Oprah?
It seems Rebecca Romijn can’t catch a break when it comes to television shows. Her latest, Eastwick, has just been canceled by ABC. Her last project a couple of years ago, Pepper Dennis, was canned at the end of a short mid-season, and this one looks to be on its way out. I hadn’t caught Eastwick myself this season, but it sounded promising. ABC has ordered more scripts for the latest Jerry Bruckheimer series starring Christian Slater, The Forgotten. Always been a fan of his work, and I keep meaning to check this one out.
With Eastwick on its way out, it looks like ABC might be ready to make some changes to its schedule. One that is being tossed around a bit is moving Ugly Betty out of its Friday death slot, where it seems to have held its own. No official word on if or when this will happen, but Ugly Betty might end up moving from Friday at 9/8c to Wednesday night at 10/9c. If I remember correctly, this will put it in the time slot immediately following Lost when it comes back in January. That is if Lost remains in its time slot.
ABC is pretty busy these days. Lost is heading towards its last season, set for Spring 2010, and we’re getting word about some old familiar faces returning to the series. A few days ago, Elizabeth Mitchell said that Juliet would be back this season, but she wouldn’t say how. It is a pretty big bet that she doesn’t even know how yet. Things on that set are kept tightly under wraps until scenes are filmed.
If you recall, Juliet set off a nuclear explosion on the island in the final moments of season five. This would lead you to believe she is dead. However, the bomb was supposed to destroy the island in the past, so there would be no island for Juliet to go to for work, and no strange phenonmenon to cause Flight 815 to crash on the island. We’ll have to wait and see what happens.
On Monday, E! Online offered us another little bit of information. Ian Somerhalder is also to return to Lost sometime during this final season, even if his character Boone died early on in the mix of things. He has no idea what he is doing either, but he did confirm Boone would be appearing.
In other ABC news, the new science fiction series V has had a premiere date set for itself. The series, a remake of the popular 1980s series, will hit the small screen in November. Elizabeth Mitchell also plays a big part in that series, so the actress will be doing double duty!

In case you didn’t know, Lost is back and it is back in a big way. We’ve seen four episodes of this season, and if you’re a fan of the series, like I am, you know that Lost has made it an entirely new ball-game. This season has introduced something entirely new that has put those on the island and those that left in a touchy situation.
What is that something new? Time-travel. Those on the island are traveling back and forth in time several times in one episode. We have seen them go back to WWII and to the present with just a flash of light. Those that left the island are trying to get back with the help of Benjamin Linus. He is still a bad guy, but right now his main focus is trying to get everyone back before something terrible happens.
As for those on the island, they are starting to get sick. Nose bleeds and headaches. Something is happening on that island. Matthew Fox takes on the cover of Entertainment Weekly this week with Evangeline Lilly, and he had some things to say about the show. Check that out with the cover of Entertainment Weekly below.
It feels very different from what Lost has felt like in the past, but in a really good way. There will be many, many answers, lots of things from past seasons that left the audience thinking, ‘That’s never going to pay off’—but it does, in really cool ways that make you go ‘Holy s—!’ The season has a real feeling of things coming together, and it builds a groundswell of momentum for the end of the show.
One of the best series on television today has to be Lost. The series finally premiered its fifth season last night on ABC, and anybody that watched the episode last night know that it is now an all new ball game. The series has changed things in regards to the island. When Ben turned the wheel in the last episode of season, he started a process that opened a door between time. The island is now jumping back and forth in time, and those still on the island are along for the ride.
They jump into the past before they crashed on the island and destroyed the hatch to a time when they are already on the island. They are able to see people that have already died or left the island. Desmond and is still guarding over the hatch in one time, and big bad evil Ethan is still alive. Those that were on the island during the event are confused. It even looks like they don’t remember some things that have happened. Sawyer doesn’t seem to know Daniel at all at some points.
He is the only one that seems to understand just what the hell is going on with the island, but we all know getting people, meaning Sawyer, to listen is a task. He is dealing with the fact that Kate and the others on the helicopter died when the freighter went down. That is what he thinks. We know differently. The Oceanic 6, plus a few, left the island, and Ben is currently trying to get them to return before all hell breaks loose. We don’t know what will happen, but it sounds bad whatever it is.
It could even mean the end of the world. Ben first get Jack on his side. Sayid goes to Hurley, and in the process he kills three men. One while trying to break Hurley out of the mental ward, and two more that attack the two of them. People put these deaths on Hurley’s shoulders. This makes him and Sayid both fugitives, and they spend the episode on the run. Sayid finally gets into Jack’s hands, but when Ben tries to make contact with Hurley the man is less than willing to work with Ben. He actually ends up turning himself into the police.
Kate is also dealing with issues after a lawyer comes to have blood and tests down on Aaron. This puts her on the run. Sun is also a changed woman when she visits with Kate. She is trying to make a deal with Charles Widmore. To me, Sun is probably the most changed character over this series. The Oceanic Six, and whoever else, left the island, need to return to it, but it seems that won’t be an easy task. We will have to see what happens next week. What did you think of the season premiere of Lost?
We’re just a little under a month away before the premiere of the next season of Lost. The cast has been hard at work in Miami filming the episodes, and ABC has been releasing bits and pieces of what we can expect from the next season. Last week, a scene with Kate was released , and now we have an all new scene from the premiere episode with Jack and Ben talking. You can watch the clip below. I also have some all new promo pictures from season five. These are of Kate played by Evangeline Lilly. I have others available, and I may post them in the coming days!
Lost is getting ready to make its comeback to ABC in a few weeks time, and the cast and crew is hard at work filming the new season. Josh Holloway plays sexy Sawyer on the series, and these pictures are from the set. This man is defining sex with these shots of him in the waters off the coast of Hawaii.
The actor also had an early Christmas gift come to him too. His wife is currently pregnant. He has been married to Yessica since 2004, and she is due in 2009. Congratulations to Josh and his wife. Check out the sexy shots of Josh below. TMZ also has this video . Yessica you are one very lucky woman!
Yes, Lost fans. We are finally given a quick peek at just what is in store for us when Lost returns in the spring. The Oceanic 6 need to go back to the island. The question here is - where is the island, and what happened to the people on it? This video doesn’t really answer those questions, but this is new Lost footage nonetheless. Check it out below! Are you excited?
