Adam Lambert might not have won American Idol this year, but he was the first to release his first solo singles. Not just one but two of them apparently with Time For Miracles from the 2012 soundtrack and For Your Entertainment from his solo record.
However, now it seems the American Idol winner Kris Allen is catching up. On Friday, he released his first music video for the first single off of his record due out November 17th. The video is for Live Like You’re Dying, and apparently this was his first ever music video. An exciting life since he won American Idol, but the runner up isn’t doing too bad since the series ended.
American Idol returns this January to Fox with all new judge Ellen Degeneres taking over for Paula Abdul. Check out Kris Allen’s video below.
You wouldn’t think a CD cover would cause any trouble, but appparently one has. Adam Lambert released the cover for his first CD earlier this week. The CD, which is set for release on November 23rd, is titled For Your Entertainment, and the cover shows him glammed up and ready to party. He took to his Twitter to defend the cover this week.
Thank you to those who appreciate and understand that the album cover is deliberately campy. It’s an [homage] to the past. It IS ridiculous. For those that don’t get it: oh well… Glad to have gotten your attention.
It looks like he is already moving on from it. He debuted the first single from the new CD, the title track, today on Ryan Seacrest’s Morning Radio Show, and the song is a funky disco inspired track truly fitting of that glam CD cover. It is now available to listen to as a stream on Adam Lambert’s official website .
The singer just released his first solo single earlier this month, Time For Miracles. That is included on the 2012 soundtrack. Check that out on the stream from his site as well!

Yet another American Idol alum is releasing their album soon, and this one will be the first for Adam Lambert, who came in second during this year’s competition. The song leaked earlier this week, but the official video for Time For Miracles hit the Internet on Tuesday. This one is from the soundtrack for 2012, which is set for release on November 13th.
In this month’s issue of Details Magazine, the singer has a sexy photoshoot that might be worth a look. Lambert came out as gay shortly after the American Idol competition ended this year. His record, For Your Entertainment, is set for a November 23rd release date. For more of the racy Details photo shoot, go here.
There’s a feeling of entitlement [with the fans] because they voted to get us where we are. But you know what? I am responsible for what I created on the show – you voted for what I created, and thank you, but I created it, you didn’t.
Over the summer months, Paula Abdul shocked the world when she announced via her twitter that she wouldn’t be returning to American Idol to judge another season. Apparently the powers that be at the series weren’t willing to pay her the money she wanted to continue on. Simon Cowell even tried to push for her to be brought back in, but a search was made instead for a new fourth judge. We saw many join the other three in cities around the US as the contestants for this year’s competition.
Now we know who will join them at the judge’s table when the series returns in January. The powers that be have chosen Ellen Degeneres as the new judge for American Idol. She will sit at the table with Simon, Randy and Kara. Fans of her talk show don’t have to worry though. That isn’t going away at all! She plans to do both during those months. We will have to wait and see what happens and how well she is able to handle both jobs. American Idol is a full time job all its own.
Ellen looks to be there to stay though. She has signed a five year contract with American Idol, and she will start with the series in November. What do you think of this decision? Was Ellen the right choice for American Idol?
The battle for Paula Abdul just seems to rage on and on. It has been nearly two weeks since Abdul took to her Twitter to say she was leaving American Idol. They weren’t willing to give her what she wanted for a new contract. A reported $10 million dollars.
This started a battle for the singer and dancer. So You Think You Can Dance wanted her to jump over and judge for them with maybe a chance for her to also help choreograph in the mix. Dancing With The Stars over on ABC also threw their name into the running, but it wasn’t clear if they wanted her as a judge or a contestant on the series. She could do either really well. Ugly Betty had even been tossed around as a possibility.
However, it looks like Paula Abdul wants to head back to American Idol. She is turning down everything it looks like. American Idol has been trying to fill the spot left by Paula, and it looks like Posh Spice Victoria Beckham was in the running to fill her shows, but Paula wants back. Will she be willing to drop down the amount she wanted from them for a new contract? Do you want her back on American Idol or are you glad she is gone?

The blogosphere is hopping this morning with this latest shocker from American Idol. News of this broke out last night when Paula Abdul herself went to her blog and sais good-bye to her faithful fans that have followed her on the series as a judge since the very beginning. Her contract was up for this season, and it was not renewed. Even with the support of one Simon Cowell, she was not brought back to the series.
This is a sad day for American Idol fans. Some didn’t think much of her, but many liked her quirky insights. She added something to the American Idol program. What will happen to the series now? We know the fourth judge that joined the series last year, Kara DioGuardi, has been resigned for more with Idol. This announcement was made just two days ago on August 3rd. Check out the text of Paula’s good-bye message from her Twitter below. What do you think? Will this be a blow to American Idol? What will Simon do now that he lost his on air punching bag?
With sadness in my heart, I’ve decided not to return to #IDOL. I’ll miss nurturing all the new talent, but most of all being a part of a show that I helped from day1become an international phenomenon. What I want to say most, is how much I appreciate the undying support and enormous love that you have showered upon me. It truly has been breathtaking, especially over the past month. I do without any doubt have the BEST fans in the entire world and I love you all.
Rumors have been buzzing the last week or so about Paula Abdul’s time with American Idol. Auditions for season 9 are about ready to start, but Paula Abdul has yet to be signed to a new contract.
Fans are in an uproar. Many feel there is no American Idol without Paula Abdul on the judging panel. Others think it is time for her to move on and go because she is the least professional of the judges.
Simon Cowell has even spoken up now, and in a shocker he is actually supporting his co-judge. Paula and Simon are known to fight a lot between them on the series, but he is supporting her to continue on alongside him.
She’ll be fine. She’ll be on the show. … I don’t get a lot of say. I’ve just made it clear that I want Paula on the show.
What do you think? Do you want Paula to continue on with Idol?
Simon Cowell is enjoying a last bit of his time off this holiday season before American Idol returns to Fox on January 13th. On Monday he was seen soaking up the sun and going shirtless as he skied in Barbados with one of his exes. The ex in question is trying to find the forty-nine year old American Idol judge the woman of his dreams.
That might be a tough task. Simon is one tough cookie, but even the biggest jerks need a little love in their lives, even if he is one of the busiest men around. American Idol is about ready to kick off its new season, and something tells me this season is going to be huge.
Check out the pictures of Simon shirtless and skiing this week in Barbados below. He looks pretty good for a jerk.
The second single from David Archuleta’s CD has been released. The song is called A Little Not Too Over You, and you can see the video here . What do you think American Idol fans?

We already knew that we would have a fourth judge added to American Idol since back in August. There really was no way they could keep that hidden during the audition process. Now we know of some more changes that are being made to the series. First off, we will have only three weeks of auditions instead of four. Am I the only one that was hoping for even less in the way of bad auditions. I could handle two weeks, but three is still too many.
With one less week of auditions, Hollywood week has been expanded to two weeks, and more people will be taken from that round. Instead of the usual twenty-four contestants, we will see thirty-six chosen to move to the next round. Other changes include the addition of the wild card, and the elimination of Idol Gives Back. This was American Idol’s big celebrity event the last few years, but the economy is being blamed for it being pulled this year.
With American Idol under fire from one of its judges right now after Paula Abdul’s comments to Barbara Walter’s about the suicide of her stalker, there was some concern about Paula Abdul continuining on with the series. American Idol has just come out to People Magazine though that Paula is still very much a part of the series.
She’s going on the show. Absolutely. She’s looking forward to it, she’s doing press to promote it. She’s going to be as big of a part of American Idol as she’s always been. It’s going to be an exciting season.
However, Paula is in the middle of contract negotiations for her next contract. That has been in the works for the last few weeks. Could we lose Paula Abdul as a judge in season nine. What do you think of the changes? Will you be watching season eight of American Idol?
