American Idol is still getting ready to start their new season in early 2010, and we know we have some big changes in store this year with Ellen Degeneres coming in as a judge, but we’re still focused on last season with the top two finalists in this year’s competition releasing their records this month. Adam Lambert is releasing his effort this week, and he is doing it up big with a performance of his single on tonight’s American Music Awards, which air on ABC.
This week, he and Kris and Allen are featured on the cover of Billboard Magazine. There is no denying that the series is a huge break and jumping off point for its contestants. Check out an interview of Adam with Billboard Magazine below. What do you think? Will you be picking up Adam’s CD this week? Have you plans to pick up Kris Allen’s?
A big news day yesterday if you are a fan of television! First off, we have news of the date ABC will bring back Lost. 2010 will mark the start of the sixth and final season of the series. That date has been set for February 2nd. Where we will have a two hour season premiere to kick things off. Looks like we might be set for one amazing ending when this one returns with so many faces returning in this final season including Ian Somerhalder and Emilie de Ravin.
Also announced yesterday by Oprah is the end of her syndicated talk show. She will end her series in September 2011. The date currently set for the end is September 9th, 2011, which is the day after her twenty-fifth anniversary. Over twenty years, and it is time to bring it to an end. I haven’t watched in years, minus a few times when she had some of my favorite celebrities as guests. Will you miss Oprah?
It seems Rebecca Romijn can’t catch a break when it comes to television shows. Her latest, Eastwick, has just been canceled by ABC. Her last project a couple of years ago, Pepper Dennis, was canned at the end of a short mid-season, and this one looks to be on its way out. I hadn’t caught Eastwick myself this season, but it sounded promising. ABC has ordered more scripts for the latest Jerry Bruckheimer series starring Christian Slater, The Forgotten. Always been a fan of his work, and I keep meaning to check this one out.
With Eastwick on its way out, it looks like ABC might be ready to make some changes to its schedule. One that is being tossed around a bit is moving Ugly Betty out of its Friday death slot, where it seems to have held its own. No official word on if or when this will happen, but Ugly Betty might end up moving from Friday at 9/8c to Wednesday night at 10/9c. If I remember correctly, this will put it in the time slot immediately following Lost when it comes back in January. That is if Lost remains in its time slot.
Adam Lambert might not have won American Idol this year, but he was the first to release his first solo singles. Not just one but two of them apparently with Time For Miracles from the 2012 soundtrack and For Your Entertainment from his solo record.
However, now it seems the American Idol winner Kris Allen is catching up. On Friday, he released his first music video for the first single off of his record due out November 17th. The video is for Live Like You’re Dying, and apparently this was his first ever music video. An exciting life since he won American Idol, but the runner up isn’t doing too bad since the series ended.
American Idol returns this January to Fox with all new judge Ellen Degeneres taking over for Paula Abdul. Check out Kris Allen’s video below.
You wouldn’t think a CD cover would cause any trouble, but appparently one has. Adam Lambert released the cover for his first CD earlier this week. The CD, which is set for release on November 23rd, is titled For Your Entertainment, and the cover shows him glammed up and ready to party. He took to his Twitter to defend the cover this week.
Thank you to those who appreciate and understand that the album cover is deliberately campy. It’s an [homage] to the past. It IS ridiculous. For those that don’t get it: oh well… Glad to have gotten your attention.
It looks like he is already moving on from it. He debuted the first single from the new CD, the title track, today on Ryan Seacrest’s Morning Radio Show, and the song is a funky disco inspired track truly fitting of that glam CD cover. It is now available to listen to as a stream on Adam Lambert’s official website .
The singer just released his first solo single earlier this month, Time For Miracles. That is included on the 2012 soundtrack. Check that out on the stream from his site as well!

Yes, folks you’re reading right. The CW has decided to give full season orders to two of its series, Vampire Diaries and the all new imagining of Melrose Place. It is no real big surprise that Vampire Diaries was picked up. That series has had the best opening of the season with its numbers since its premiere. Vampires are still a hot ticket, and this one with a set of brothers bouncing back and forth is getting watched.
As for Melrose Place, this one has been struggling since the very beginning, but it isn’t dead in the water yet. The network is hoping that the return of Heather Locklear will make things pick up for the series in a big way, so they are putting faith into the series and picking it up now before her return in November. She is set to make her first appearance on the November 17th episode.
What do you think? Are you ready for more Vampire Diaries and Melrose Place?

Yet another American Idol alum is releasing their album soon, and this one will be the first for Adam Lambert, who came in second during this year’s competition. The song leaked earlier this week, but the official video for Time For Miracles hit the Internet on Tuesday. This one is from the soundtrack for 2012, which is set for release on November 13th.
In this month’s issue of Details Magazine, the singer has a sexy photoshoot that might be worth a look. Lambert came out as gay shortly after the American Idol competition ended this year. His record, For Your Entertainment, is set for a November 23rd release date. For more of the racy Details photo shoot, go here.
There’s a feeling of entitlement [with the fans] because they voted to get us where we are. But you know what? I am responsible for what I created on the show – you voted for what I created, and thank you, but I created it, you didn’t.
All the readers of this blog know I’m a huge fan of the Showtime series, Californication. We are only two episodes into season three, but we already know now that there will be a season four of the popular series. That decision was made based on the performance of the first episode. Ratings shot through the roof, and Showtime just couldn’t let this series go.
This season, Hank is dealing with his lady love being on the opposite side of the country while trying to raise his daughter and find a way to make money, whether that is selling his latest novel or working as a professor. Something that will most certainly pose some problems for the sex crazed author.
Californication airs on Sunday nights at 10pm on Showtime. What do you think? Are you ready for another season of the series already? Twelve more episodes of the series will hit Showtime in 2010. Check out the preview for the current season below. This season is full of new faces that will certainly make things interesting.
Melrose Place has returned. This time its on the CW instead of Fox, and it is following 90210. That series is in season two. Melrose Place is struggling with the ratings right now. We’re only three episodes in though, and the network is hoping this announcement is enough to make those ratings pick up.
Heather Locklear has finally agreed to return to Melrose Place. She had originally said no when asked. Others have returned to the series including Laura Leighton and Thomas Calabro. Others are set to make appearances as well.
Locklear was a major force in the original series, so having her return now is huge. What chaos will she manage to cause in the series? She is set to return to our small screens as Amanda on November 17th! What do you think of the new Melrose Place?
Vampires are one hot ticket right now it seems. All you have to look at is the record numbers set by The Vampire Diaries this week on CW. The premiere of that series brought in the highest numbers of viewers the CW has ever had! It will return to the network for its second episode on Thursday night, and if those numbers continue I see a full season of The Vampire Diaries ahead of us.
That will help those vampire loving people going through True Blood withdrawals. Yes, True Blood returns to HBO tonight for the finale of its second season. The series took a week break last weekend for Labor Day, but now we’ll get to see how this season ends up. What will happen to the town of Bon Temps and Maryann? Will the Queen of the Vampires come in to save the day?
No matter what happens, I’ll be tuning in to watch at some point tonight. Season three is already in the works, and Alan Ball gave TV Squad some spoilers for next season. Looks like we’ll have some new faces to deal with including The Vampire of Mississippi.
Also, it seems no matter what happens on-screen, the off screen happenings are just as interesting. We’ve already had one couple formed by the actors on this series with Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer engaged to be married, but now it looks like Evan Rachel Wood and Alexander Skarsgard have also hooked up during filming. News of the hook-up comes from Perez Hilton. Who is next?
Check back here later tonight to see my thoughts of the season finale of True Blood. Check here for more on True Blood.
