American Idol is still getting ready to start their new season in early 2010, and we know we have some big changes in store this year with Ellen Degeneres coming in as a judge, but we’re still focused on last season with the top two finalists in this year’s competition releasing their records this month. Adam Lambert is releasing his effort this week, and he is doing it up big with a performance of his single on tonight’s American Music Awards, which air on ABC.
This week, he and Kris and Allen are featured on the cover of Billboard Magazine. There is no denying that the series is a huge break and jumping off point for its contestants. Back in September, we saw Janet Jackson take to the stage at the MTV Video Music Awards to pay tribute to her brother, Michael. Now she is making another comeback it looks like. This week, she released an all new music video for her latest single, Make Me.
The video is very similar in style to the video she made with her brother Michael for Scream. There is no denying that Michael’s little sister is still one very talented woman, and she has broken away from her family just like Michael did. However, it seems she didn’t share a lot of the same problems that he had growing up. She seems to be the more levelheaded of the Jackson family.

The first video is from Beyonce with her new song, Video Phone, which features Lady Gaga in the video. That one has always scared me just a little, but she seems to know how to get attention. Beyonce has definitely come a long way from her days with Destiny’s Child, and it looks like she has a pretty damn good life. Even when she has friends that do things they probably shouldn’t. Kanye West anyone?!
The second video is a new one from Shakira. Yes, another new Shakira video. Seems like just a week ago I posted her last one. This one she teams up with Lil Wayne. Give It Up To Me was teased late last week on the net, but now we have the full clip from it.

Another Monday morning has arrived, and it is pretty much a given what movie managed to top the box office this weekend. 2012 has had people waiting for months now, and the wait finally ended. The next big disaster movie about the end of the world managed to push Disney’s A Christmas Carol out of the top slot by earning $65 million. Not a bad number there at all. Michael Jackson’s This is It only managed to come in fifth. This week is a big release week with another movie the fans have been waiting for. Twilight’s New Moon. Twilight fans have definitely been waiting for this one’s release, so there is no doubt in my mind it will hit the top of the box office this weekend. Planet 51 and The Blind Side will also hit theaters this week.
As far CD & DVD releases go, we have one of the big summer movies now hitting store shelves in Star Trek along with Bruno and My Sister’s Keeper, and with the holidays coming more television offerings are headed to stores including some repackaged favorites including The Sopranos and Rome from HBO. Music seems to be where the big names are at though with releases from John Mayer, Lady Gaga and One Republic all hitting this week. Check below for a full list of new releases.
Some sexy new videos have hit the net over the last couple of days, and there is no way I could not stop from showing you them.
The first video is of Scarlett Johansson and her sexy new ad for Dolce & Gabbana. The ad shows her in all her blonde glory looking sexy just sitting at the kitchen table and peeling an orange. Who knew something so simple could look so good? Scarlett looks amazing with her blonde looks. Not that I didn’t like her as a redhead either, but the blonde wins me out every time.
The other new video is yet another music video release from Rihanna. She has been just about everywhere lately with her interviews about the incident earlier this year with Chris Brown. Here is her sexy new video for Russian Roulette below.
30 Seconds To Mars led by Jared Leto are on the comeback trail. They released their first single, Kings & Queens, a month ago to radio and then to iTunes. This single is off their upcoming release, This Is War, which hits on December 8th. The music video, more of a short film, finally hit MySpace Music last night, and the video takes us into the heart of Los Angeles on a night ride through the city.
The video was shot over several nights in Los Angeles last month with major parts of the city shut down especially for the shoot. After seeing the video directed by Jared Leto, I’m even more excited to see this new record release from the band. Check out the video below. What do you think? Hot or not?
Yes, another actor trying to make it as a singer after finding great success on the screen. You always have to wonder about this because not every actor can sing. There are exceptions to this of course, but this isn’t about that right now. Actress Leighton Meester has her first music video out for her song Somebody To Love.
The music video and song features Robin Thicke as well as she spends the video trying to seduce him. The actress currently is one of the stars of Gossip Girl, and the gossipers have now headed to college, and there has been all kinds of mayhem since that happened. Another Monday has arrived, and that means it is time to take a quick look at what happened at the box office this weekend. Disney’s all new version for A Christmas Carol starring Jim Carrey managed to top the list at the box office this weekend with $31 million coming in in ticket sales. Michael Jackson managed to stay in the second spot beating out the other new arrivals this weekend, THe Men Who Stare At Goats and The Fourth Kind. Those two came in third and fourth place respectively. The Box, the new one from Cameron Diaz, came in sixth place after Paranormal Activity.
This week, 2012 finally hits theaters. This is one I have been personally waiting for to come out. Another one of those end of the world type disaster movies that will end up scaring you about the fate of our own world, but you’ll still watch anyone. As far as DVD releases go, Up and The Ugly Truth both hit store shelves along with Dawson’s Creek in its complete series release. Adam Lambert might not have won American Idol this year, but he was the first to release his first solo singles. Not just one but two of them apparently with Time For Miracles from the 2012 soundtrack and For Your Entertainment from his solo record.
However, now it seems the American Idol winner Kris Allen is catching up. On Friday, he released his first music video for the first single off of his record due out November 17th. The video is for Live Like You’re Dying, and apparently this was his first ever music video. An exciting life since he won American Idol, but the runner up isn’t doing too bad since the series ended.
American Idol returns this January to Fox with all new judge Ellen Degeneres taking over for Paula Abdul. Check out Kris Allen’s video below.
Rihanna has had one busy week this week. Actually the last month for her has been insanely busy. The singer released Russian Roulette just a few weeks ago, and now another single has hit with a video. This one is called Wait Your Turn. Yes, she is seen with an eye patch on this one. Not only is she moving on with her music, but she is also opening up about the incident that happened earlier this year between her and Chris Brown.
She is set to tell ABC all about the incident and the impact it has had on her life. Things have certainly changed in her life this year. Her music even has an edgier feel to it.
