Dear John & Mary and Max Release Trailers

On this Friday, I have two all new movie trailers for you. The first is the next movie based on a book writtenby Nicholas Sparks. Yes, the man behind The Notebook and A Walk To Remember. Dear John is his next one, and it will star GI Joe hunk Channing Tatum and Mamma Mia star Amanda Seyfried. In this one, Tatum plays a soldier on leave who falls in love with a young college student. Expect the usual heartbreak here. This one is set for release on February 5, 2010.

As for the second trailer, it comes from a new animated feature out of Australia with the voice talents of Eric Bana among others. This one tells the story of two unlikely people that become penpals and friends. This one was released in Australia back in April, but it looks like we might get a US release in the near future.

Check out both trailers below. What do you think?

Trailer: The Expendables [VIDEO]

the-expendables-actor-montage2.jpg

It seems no matter how old he gets Sylvester Stallone is still trying to act like a man half his age. He isn’t a thirty year old anymore, but it is admirable how he doesn’t seem to quit really. Even if Rocky Balboa was hard to watch, and I couldn’t even force myself to watch the last Rambo film. I think they might even be making another one of those, but I could be mistaken. His latest movie,

The Expendables, won’t be released until August 2010, but we now have a trailer for it, and it looks like a Rambo movie but he decided to get a little help from his friends. The movie co-stars some of the biggest names in action movies and most of older Hollywood with Jet Li, Jason Stratham, Mickey Rourke and Eric Roberts all featured in the trailer that was released this week. In this one, a team is sent in to a South American country in order to overturn a dictator. However, from the trailer, it looks like not everything goes as planned. Check out the full trailer below. Another Monday morning has arrived, and it looks like the cute and wild and the not so cute battled it out for the top of the box office.  As it turns out, the cute came out on top with Where The Wild Things Are topping the box office. That movie managed to make $32.5 million in its opening week. Next up behind it was Law Abiding Citizen where Gerard Butler went mad after his family is killed. The other big new release this weekend was The Stepfather, and it managed to come in 5th place. The big surprise still manages to be Paranormal Activity, and it came in third this week behind the top two!

In the week ahead, we have four new movies hitting box offices including Hilary Swank’s Amelia, Astro Boy and the next movie in the Saw series just in time for Halloween. On DVD, fans of Transformers finally get Revenge of the Fallen on DVD. Hitting store shelves also on DVD is the final season of The L Word and a repackaged edition of Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman. On the music front,we have new music from Tim McGraw among others. Check out below for a full list of new releases.

Poster: Daybreakers

For some reason, I’m really excited about this new movie coming to us from Ethan Hawke. He isn’t one of those actors you see everywhere. He does movies that seem to go against the norm, and he is quiet. Nothing wrong with either one. This month, he takes to the cover of Hobo Magazine, and this means things are starting to heat up for his next movie release. Daybreakers is a vampire movie that doesn’t sparkle. We all know vampires are huge right now.

In this one, Ethan Hawke plays a researcher in the not to distant future that is trying to find a cure for a disease that has turned the human race into vampires one by one. However, it looks like a discovery is made, and this leads to trouble and chaos. The trailer for this one was posted a few months ago on this blog, and it looks like an amazing dark movie. Daybreakers hits theaters on January 8, 2010. Check out the new poster for it below. What do you think?

Celebrity Today Movie Report - 10/12/09

Another Monday has arrived, and that means it is time to look at this weekend’s box office. With only one major movie in wide release, that means that movie somehow managed to top the box office charts. The romantic comedy Couples Retreat happened to bring in $35 million this week. The movie was set this weekend’s release date with Shutter Island, but that movie was pushed back to a February release date. Last week’s number one, Zombieland slipped to the number two spot, and the shocker of the week has to be Paranormal Activity, which managed to come in the top five with only a very limited release in theaters. That one made just over $7 million.

As for the week head, we certainly seem to have a busy week as far as new releases. We have three new offerings coming to theaters this week. Two of the thriller variety, and one for the whole family to enjoy. One that many are looking at is the remake of The Stepfather. The original of that movie is the one that made Terry O’Quinn famous long before he was on Lost. The trailer for the remake actually looks alright, but we all know I’m not a big fan of remakes. The other big release to theaters this week is from Gerard Butler and Jamie Foxx with Law Abiding Citizen where we see what a man pushed to the edge after watching his family killed and the men set free is capable of doing.

As far as releases to stores. We have a number of new releases to DVD including The Prosposal, Land of the Lost and Drag Me To Hell.  The first three seasons of the Land of the Lost television series is also hitting DVD this week. As far as music goes, we have new releases from Shakira, Mario and it seems the Christmas music season is starting to get underway. Check below for a full list of new releases.

Another Monday has arrived, and that means it is time to take a quick look at what happened at this weekend’s box office. For the last two weeks, Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs had topped the box office, but this week the undead pushed the meatball down to the second spot. Zombieland managed to take the top spot, and that might have with the help of a little news bit that broke on Thursday about a surprise cameo.

That cameo seems to have brought people in to see the movie to the tune of $25 million in its opening weekend. The number two managed to make another $16.7 million, and the Toy Story double feature came in third. The other two new movies this weekend The Invention Of Lying and Whip It had low openings. Lying came in fourth place with $7.4 million and Whip It came in seventh place with $4.9 million made in its opening weekend.

As for the week ahead, we only have one major movie hitting theaters in wide release, and that is Couples Retreat, a new comedy. There is far more coming out this week to store shelves, including Ally McBeal, Bones, Medium, Year One and more hitting DVD. There is also a number of new music releases set to hit on Tuesday including the new CD from the Backstreet Boys. You can check out a full list of new releases below.

shutter-island-copy11.jpg

A second trailer for the next movie from Leonardo DiCaprio has been released by Paramount Pictures. The movie was originally set for release for sometime this fall, but the studio pushed it back to a release date in February. The movie will be released on February 19th to be exact, so remember to mark that date on your calendar. The movie co-stars Michelle Williams and Mark Ruffalo. That man has been busy working on his directorial debut with actor Orlando Bloom called Sympathy For Delicious. That one should hit the Sundance Film Festival after the new year.

However, Shutter Island comes to us from Martin Scorcese, and it tells the story of two US Marshals trying to solve the case of a woman’s disappearance on a quiet island. Check out the trailer for it below. What do you think? Will you go see Shutter Island when it hits theaters in February?

New Avatar Images, 2012 Shakes Things Up

November and December seem to be shaping up for big movie months. In November, we have movies like New Moon and 2012 ready to hit theaters, and in December the long awaited next movie from James Cameron, Avatar, is ready to hit. People have been waiting for this one for a very long time. Cameron has been working on this one for years, and the little bit we have been able to see of it, looks amazing. Six new images from the movie hit the Internet just yesterday, and the excitement is only building.

As for 2012, this one will destroy the world starting November 13th. If you’re a fan of Grey’s Anatomy, you might have caught the sneak preview for that movie during last night’s episode. Fancast has a full five minute extended scene that shows California getting hit by a major earthquake. Check both the images and the scene below. What do you think?

Fantastic Mr. Fox Gets A Trailer, Thomas The Tank Gets A Movie

fantastic-mr-fox-2.jpg

A few weeks ago I showed you the poster for the new animated movie George Clooney was doing, Mr. Fantastic. Now we have the fantastic trailer to go with it. That was released on the Internet on Wednesday. It seems more and more celebrities are lending their voice talents to animated movies and characters.

This one is coming to us from 20th Century Fox, and just from the trailer alone I am excited to see this movie. Pixar usually dominates when it comes to animation, but this one looks like it might top things once it is released. With the star talent involved, we are sure to see a hit. This one was created by Wes Anderson, and it is set to hit on November 25th.

As for another animated movie, Thomas The Tank Engine looks to be the next big story book character set to come to life on the big screen. A movie is being made with Thomas & His Friends, but we won’t see it until Spril 2011. That means we have a bit of a wait. For now, check out the trailer for the Fantastic Mr. Fox below. What do you think? Is it fantastic or not?

Jessica Alba Joins The Fockers

jessica-alba-9279-4.jpg

Jessica Alba seems to only be busier now than she was before giving birth to her now one year old daughter, Honor Marie. This summer alone, she has had two projects filming at the same time - taking her back and forth between sets in Los Angeles and Texas.

Now we have word from The Hollywood Reporter that she is set to join a new comedy, the latest from The Fockers - Little Fockers. The first in that series aired in 2000 with Meet The Parents. Alba will join the cast as pharmacist. The movie co-stars Robert Deniro and Ben Stiller. Alba is currently working with Deniro on another project, Robert Rodriguez’s Machete.

The actress has been keeping busy though. She was seen out earlier this week with an all new hair style. This summer she has gone from brunette to blond and now we have a new redheaded Alba walking around. Could it be for her new role? Little Fockers will start shooting in a few months with a release date set for July 2010.

For more on Jessica Alba, check here .
