American Idol is still getting ready to start their new season in early 2010, and we know we have some big changes in store this year with Ellen Degeneres coming in as a judge, but we’re still focused on last season with the top two finalists in this year’s competition releasing their records this month. Adam Lambert is releasing his effort this week, and he is doing it up big with a performance of his single on tonight’s American Music Awards, which air on ABC.
This week, he and Kris and Allen are featured on the cover of Billboard Magazine. There is no denying that the series is a huge break and jumping off point for its contestants. Check out an interview of Adam with Billboard Magazine below. What do you think? Will you be picking up Adam’s CD this week? Have you plans to pick up Kris Allen’s?
EW is ready to unleash its fall movie preview, and what movie better to take to the cover than New Moon, which is set for release in November. Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner are featured in this photo shoot and on the cover. Check out the pictures below, courtesy of Ten Gossip!
Brad Pitt’s latest movie is set to come out later this month, so this means we’re going to get to see quite a lot when it comes to the actor in the weeks ahead. Early this week, Maddox celebrated his eighth birthday, but he is still not married to his partner Angelina Jolie. This weekend, he will take to the pages of Parade Magazine in a a hot photo shoot, and he talks openly about his sex life with Angelina, and the reason the two of them have yet to walk down the aisle. Inglorious Basterds is set for release on August 21st. Check out the pictures of Brad for Parade Magazine below.
I have love in my life, a soul mate–absolutely. When someone asked me why Angie and I don’t get married, I replied, ‘Maybe we’ll get married when it’s legal for everyone else.’ I stand by that.
Yesterday on this blog, I wrote about Vanity Fair’s tribute to Australian actor Heath Ledger. Now with the magazine actually hitting the newsstands here in the United States, there seems to be a bit more to this article that we originally thought there would be. This one has me a bit puzzled and scratching my head.
Many would call Heath Ledger’s break out role that of The Joker in The Dark Knight, which we can all now see over and over again as it plays on HBO. It premiered on the cable network earlier this month. However, now the actor’s agent Steven Alexander has come out saying that the actor had a specific deal with The Dark Knight where he would be paid whether he worked or not.
Heath wasn’t looking for a big summer blockbuster role that might label him forever and follow him for the rest of his career, so he tried to play his role so over the top that he would end up getting fired and still paid anyway. Heath’s performance as The Joker was out there and over the top. He made me cringe every single time his character was on screen, but was this him purposely trying to get out of the role? Some say it was this performance that lead to his death. What do you think? Check out what his agent had to say about it below.
The real decision to take the role was because of the film’s unusually long shoot, which would give Ledger an excuse to turn down other offers. And since he was guaranteed to collect a paycheck, Ledger was hoping that his performance would be so “far-out” that he would end up being fired and become the beneficiary of a lengthy, paid vacation. His agent added that while Ledger wanted to get paid, he didn’t want to be part of the massive blockbuster that “The Dark Knight” turned out to be.
With yet another quick and tragic death making headlines around the world this week with tributes in magazines to come in the days ahead, it is odd to see another recent tragic death brought back into the spotlight, but that is what is happening. Vanity Fair has paid tribute to Heath Ledger with their August issue. They are remembering the actor with a piece that goes over his last days on this earth.
The actor was a troubled man who was acting not for fame or money, but for the craft and the respect of those others like himself. He died last January in a sudden death where drugs played a part. This is much like the current tragedy with Michael Jackson, where it is now believed an overdose is to blame.
Heath Ledger was truly one of the great younger actors of our time, and he had such potential for great things. The August Issue of Vanity Fair hits store shelves on July 1st. Check out the cover and some of the photos from inside below.
He wasn’t motivated by money or stardom, but by the respect of his peers, and for people to walk out of a movie theater after they’d seen something that he’d worked on and say, ‘Wow, he really disappeared into that character.’ He was striving to become an ‘illusionist,’ as he called it, able to create characters that weren’t there.
We are only one day away from the release of Terminator Salvation into theaters. Many have been waiting for this once since the announcement of the movie. Some have been waiting a lot longer than that. When Terminator first entered our mainstream culture back in 1984, people wanted to see the battle of the machines between humankind.
Here we are twenty-five years later, and we’re finally seeing it. John Connor is set to take on the machines in 2018 starting tomorrow. I will be going to see the movie for myself as a fan of Terminator.
However, there was also bad news in the world of Terminator this week. Fox canceled the television series in the franchise, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. The series would have gone for their third season in the fall, but low ratings put the series to rest.
Bale appears on the cover of the June 2009 issue of GQ Magazine, and yes once again he is asked about his on-set rant. Something tells me he will always be asked about that. Check out the pictures of him in GQ below.
I’d definitely say that that guy who was yelling was at least half John Connor, and the rest was Christian Bale.
Hugh Jackman is really pushing this promotion for X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Everywhere you look, you see the forty year old Aussie actor selling Wolverine for all he’s worth and then some. Last week, he went Internation, but now he is back in the US, and he hit Hollywood this week where his hand prints now rest in cement, an honor some are wondering if he deserved.
This weekend, he will hit the Parade magazine in a sexy photo shoot that doesn’t show off much more than his looks. No, he isn’t flashing his chest or the rest of his body. Sometimes you can look sexy fully dressed. What a concept! Check out the pictures from Parade below.
Yesterday we had Eric Bana’s photo shoot from this month’s issue of Details Magazine, and now we have Mandy Moore. Yes, she has grown up quite a lot since she broke out onto the music scene singing about how she loved you like candy. The actress and singer shocked just about everyone in recent weeks when she and her now husband Ryan Adams let the world know they married.
No one really saw that coming I don’t think. Some even thought she had gone back to her former boyfriend late in 2008, but no she is now married to Ryan Adams, and she really hasn’t looked better. She talks to the magazine about married life. Check out the sexy photos from the magazine below. What do you think?
Eric Bana is set for one busy summer. He has three movies set for release in the months to come, and the first is already out and about being promoted - Star Trek. The eleventh movie in the series, and a reboot for the series. In this one, Bana plays the villain Nero.
The Star Trek crew has been running around the globe the past week with promotion for the movie, and now we have Bana on the cover of Details Magazine with a hot photo shoot inside. Definitely one of his best.
Next up for the Australian actor is Judd Apatow’s Funny People on July 21st and The Time Traveler’s Wife on August 14th. Check out the photos from this month’s issue of Details below.
Well, it looks like we’re gearing up for another movie in the Fast & Furious franchise. After the movie opened last week with the biggest opening this year so far, and the biggest April box office opening ever, there was no doubt that we would see Fast & Furious 5. Rumors about this one started before the movie even premiered though, and it was confirmed this week by Paul Walker as he did the promotional rounds on the morning talk shows.
So, yes we will have Fast & Furious 5. Vin Diesel and Paul Walker will team up once again, and Walker says this time around they will be heading to Brazil. The end of Fast & Furious did leave things wide open with Brian and Mia looking to break Dom out of prison once he wasn’t granted clemency.
No word on whether or not Jordana Brewster will once again join up. Michelle Rodriguez will be out of this one obviously, unless there is some creative doings to bring her back to life. Diesel & Walker hit the cover of Entertainment Weekly for April 17th. Check that out below! What do you think? Are you ready for more Fast & Furious?
