There are always strange things happenings in the celebrity world. These are just some of the things that caught my eye on this Friday.
Playboy wants Lindsay Lohan to pose nude for them. This isn’t the first time they have made such a request from her. In the past, they offered to pay her $700,000 to pose for them. Now they are uping that price to $900,000. Last night, Lohan attended the memorial for DJ AM at the Palladium in Hollywood.
With Michael Jackson just being laid to rest in Hollywood last night, there are still stories coming out from those that knew the entertainer. This story is one of those that falls into the strange bracket. Carrie Fisher tells a story about how she spent this past Christmas with Jackson and his kids. She even broke out Princess Leia for them, and all she received for her troubles was a gifted cell phone. She tells this full story tonight on Late Night With Craig Ferguson.
Last but not least, this one I heard a few days ago, and it made me shake my head. Showtime is not done with The L Word. Not entirely. They are deciding to move forward on another one of series’ creator Ilene Chakien’s ideas. She wants to make an L Word reality series. They will cast six lesbians and follow their lives for a reality series. Originally, she wanted to do a spin-off from The L Word focusing on Leisha Hailey, but that idea didn’t go as planned. Showtime canned it before letting it move forward.

It seems 2009, and especially this summer has been a hard one to take. We have lost one after another in the celebrity world, and it just keeps happening. The latest loss is Adam Goldstein, also known as DJ AM. He was found dead in his New York City apartment late Friday afternoon. Some friends hadn’t heard from him in a few days, and they proceeded to check on him. When he didn’t answer the door, they got someone to let them in, and they found him dead.
A year ago, he was one of two survivors of a fatal plane crash, and since then he had been battling pain and taking pills for that. Those on the scene say they found drug paraphenalia, and it is possible the man died of a drug overdose. Too much loss this summer. This looks to be another one that could have been avoided. That’s the question on everyone’s mind since this video was released on the Internet on Tuesday. The brief clip is said to be of the Coroner van that took Michael Jackson away. In the clip, you see the van pull up, and a man get out of the back, dressed similarly to what Michael would wear.
The mystery and chaos over Michael Jackson’s death has been on-going since his passing. To say he is alive might be stretching. To this day, many fans still say Elvis is alive, and he died thirty years ago. So now for the next thirty to fifty years, we will have reports of Michael Jackson being alive.

The Los Angeles Coroner’s Office has now released a statement that states that Michael Jackson’s death was indeed a homicide. He was killed by a lethal dose of the drug Propofol. The injection of the drug was administered by his doctor Dr. Conrad Murray. The doctor said he administered the drug nightly to combat insomnia. The Los Angeles has yet to confirm this statement. Michael Jackson died on June 25th, and the entertainer is yet to be buried.
Another earthquake has rocked Japan once again. The 6.6 quake hit early Tuesday morning in Japan, and word has it that both Jessica Simpson and Beyonce, along with her sister, were in Japan for this shaker. There are reports of a tsunami warning now in effect for the area. However, both stars are fine. Just clearly shaken up. Both Solange and Jessica headed to their twitter accounts immediately following the quake.

Earlier this week, Paula Abdul announced to the world via her Twitter that she was quitting American Idol. Apparently, Idol and Fox wasn’t going to give Abdul the amount she wanted to sign a new contract. However, it is starting to look like Paula might end up being okay. Not one but two networks are fighting for her to join their series.
Fox is looking to keep her on board, but bringing her over to So You Think You Can Dance. Nigel Lythgoe had expressed interest to Paula Abdul in the past, but scheduling was always an issue. Now it looks like ABC might be interested in snagging Paula Abdul somehow for Dancing With The Stars. Not sure if it is her talents as a judge or a dancer they are seeking though.
Dancing With The Stars has also expressed interest in her before, but that was as a contestant, but again her demanding American Idol schedule was hard to compete with, so she never ventured off to appear on either show. I would love to see her on either show. She is a choreographer and dancer first. That is where she started out. It would be great to see her return to her roots, and bring her own style to either So You Can Think You Can Dance or Dancing With The Stars. What do you think? True Blood is one of the biggest shows on television right now. I still tune in every single week to see what happens with everyone. There have been some twists and turns this season. That is for sure. The second season is heating up things over on HBO right now, but we have some news about the couple on the show. On air, Stephen Moyer and Anna Paquin play a couple in love, and apparently in this case life has decided to imitate.
The couple started dating back in February, and yesterday it was announced by them that are now engaged. We have seen them out and about a lot lately, and it was very much obvious these two were in love. It is great to see a couple come together. True Blood airs on Sunday nights on HBO.
