This definitely sounds like a match made in heaven. Johnny Depp has just signed on to do a movie with Angelina Jolie. The Tourist was originally set for Sam Worthington and Charlize Theron, but Theron stepped out and Jolie stepped in. Tom Cruise was also in talks for this one at one point. Now it looks like Depp is set to join her. Something tells me these two on the big screen will be something amazing to see.
Just yesterday, I had the new trailer for you from Jolie’s next one, Salt. A few weeks ago, I had the Alice In Wonderland trailer for you from Depp. These two are two of the top actors in Hollywood at the moment. Both are excellent at what they do, and this movie sounds made for them.
Depp will play an American Tourist that gets taken in a by a woman working with Interpol. What do you think of this casting shake-up?
Rihanna has had one busy week this week. Actually the last month for her has been insanely busy. The singer released Russian Roulette just a few weeks ago, and now another single has hit with a video. This one is called Wait Your Turn. Yes, she is seen with an eye patch on this one. Not only is she moving on with her music, but she is also opening up about the incident that happened earlier this year between her and Chris Brown.
She is set to tell ABC all about the incident and the impact it has had on her life. Things have certainly changed in her life this year. Her music even has an edgier feel to it. If you’re a fan of Bon Jovi then this news will be exciting for you. The band is getting ready to release its next studio album in the weeks ahead. Looks like those in the UK will get that first on November 2nd with a US release date of November 10th. On Thursday, the band announced from the parking lot of the new arena being built in their home state of New Jersey that they were getting ready to embark on a world tour that would take them around the globe for the next two years. They will start off on the west coast in February and then go around the world with even a residency at the O2 in London thrown in there somewhere.
Their first single from The Circle, We Weren’t Born To Follow, has been climbing up the charts, and it was even picked as the song for Major League Baseball’s post season, which is soon coming to a close. Jon Bon Jovi’d documentary that follows what this band has been about for the last twenty-five years is premiering on Showtime tonight, October 24th, and the documentary itself will be included as a DVD released with the new album. The documentary gives us a look at just what the life of this rock star has been for the last quarter of a century. Bon Jovi is getting release their next big studio album on November 10th. The Circle will be their fifth studio album in the last decade, and it looks like they aren’t stopping. Going on twenty-five years, the rockers from Jersey led by Jon Bon Jovi haven’t had it easy in recent years. Richie Sambora, the guitarist for the band, had to fight some of his own personal demons with a trip into rehab following the divorce of him and his wife Heather Locklear. The two still remain close.
Earlier this week, NBC announced that Jon Bon Jovi would be their artist in residence for November and December. In order to promote the record release, Jon will appear exclusively on NBC programming, either solo or with his band. Some of the appearances include The Jay Leno Show, The Tonight Show, The Today Show, an appearance on Saturday Night Live, and even an episode of In The Actor’s Studio with Jon. Britney Spears has had it tough over the years, but it seems over the past year she has cleaned up her act some and is doing a lot better than the near breakdown and troubled state she was in not too far in the distant past. She’s been making music, touring and winning awards with her last record release, and she is releasing a hits collection next month. The single off of that record, 3, is already causing some buzz though, as that 3 is entering the Billboard Hot List at number one.
Yes, that is where it is debuting, and she has made a Billboard record with this one - she is the first artist to do this in over three years. The song is her own fun tribute to threesome sex. Only Britney folks! Not only that, but she has been selected as the best celebrity mom this year by a poll in the UK. She even beat out Christina Aguilera and Angelina Jolie for the honor.

It is still hard to think that Michael Jackson is gone. His death over the summer caused chaos and sadness around the world. The new film containing footage from the tour he had planned to start July is just two weeks away from being released in theaters for a very limited engagement. This tour was supposed to be Michael’s big return to music, but he died before he could officially hit the stage. Footage from rehearsals were taken, including the footage from the final dress rehearsal that happened a couple of days before his death, and now we have a new film.
Yesterday, the new song Michael was working on for the tour hit the Internet, and the world went crazy. However, there is some controversy with the song’s release. Apparently, it isn’t a new song. The song was written back in 1983 by Michael and Paul Anka. Anka has claimed 50% rights to the song that was later record by Sa-Fire in 1991.

Tragic news out of Spain this weekend. Apparently, the singer for Boyzone Stephen Gately has unexpected died. The group was big in the 90s, and the singer came out as openly gay about ten years ago. Yes, long before Lance Bass outed himself as gay once it looked like *Nsync was done, and also before Jonathan Knight did the same. Gay boybanders had to hide themselves deep in the closet just to make sure they kept their fans happy.Gately came out, and he even married his lover in a civil union in 2006.
He was vacationing with his partner on the island of Mallorca when he died suddenly of natural causes. The singer was only 33 years old. Suicide or drugs were not a factor in his death. It seems we keep losing people. Most far before their time. An appearance by the group set for X-Factor had to be canceled. A statement has been released by the remaining members of the group. We have shared such wonderful times together over the years and were all looking forward to sharing many more. Stephen was a beautiful person in both body and spirit. Our love and sympathy go out to Andrew and Stephen’s family. We love you and will miss you forever.
We all remember the incident from last month’s MTV Video Music Awards. The show started off with a bang and some controversy during the first award of the night when Taylor Swift beat out Beyonce for an award. While giving her acceptance speech, Kanye West jumped up from the audience, took her microphone and then claimed that Beyonce had pretty much been robbed of the award.
Things were buzzing for a good week afterward with both Kanye and Taylor making this own statements about the incident, but one person stayed surprising quiet during the whole aftermath - the person Kanye was apparently standing up for in the first place. Beyonce has now made her own statement about the incident with Kanye West. She spoke to Gayle King with Oprah Magazine this week, and this is what she had to say:
Well, I knew his intentions, and I knew he was standing up for art; and he told me before, when they said the nominees, he’s like, ‘You have this award.’ When they didn’t call my name, he was, like, completely shocked. And when he walked on the stage, I was like, ‘No, no, no!’ and then he spoke, and I was like, ‘Oh, no, no, no!’

Yesterday was a sad day in Hollywood as by the afternoon we were told that Patrick Swayze had lost his battle against cancer. His family, including his wife of 32 years, were at his side at the time of his passing. Just a little under two years ago, the actor had announced he had been diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer, but he was going to fight it. And fight he did. Many believed he would die months ago as pancreatic cancer has a survival rate of about 4%. He fought as hard as he could, but the cancer won out in the end.
He is an actor, singer, and dancer with some of the most beloved movies to his name including Dirty Dancing and Ghost. Those two near the top of my personal favorites list. He also made going in drag sexy with his role in Too Wong Foo: Thanks For Everything Julie Newmar. In the last year, he continued to work as he headed to the small screen with a series for A&E called The Beast. My thoughts go out to to his friends and family at this difficult time. Over the summer months, Paula Abdul shocked the world when she announced via her twitter that she wouldn’t be returning to American Idol to judge another season. Apparently the powers that be at the series weren’t willing to pay her the money she wanted to continue on. Simon Cowell even tried to push for her to be brought back in, but a search was made instead for a new fourth judge. We saw many join the other three in cities around the US as the contestants for this year’s competition.
Now we know who will join them at the judge’s table when the series returns in January. The powers that be have chosen Ellen Degeneres as the new judge for American Idol. She will sit at the table with Simon, Randy and Kara. Fans of her talk show don’t have to worry though. That isn’t going away at all! She plans to do both during those months. We will have to wait and see what happens and how well she is able to handle both jobs. American Idol is a full time job all its own.
Ellen looks to be there to stay though. She has signed a five year contract with American Idol, and she will start with the series in November. What do you think of this decision? Was Ellen the right choice for American Idol?
