Patrick Swayze Dead At 57
Yesterday was a sad day in Hollywood as by the afternoon we were told that Patrick Swayze had lost his battle against cancer. His family, including his wife of 32 years, were at his side at the time of his passing. Just a little under two years ago, the actor had announced he had been diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer, but he was going to fight it. And fight he did. Many believed he would die months ago as pancreatic cancer has a survival rate of about 4%. He fought as hard as he could, but the cancer won out in the end.
He is an actor, singer, and dancer with some of the most beloved movies to his name including Dirty Dancing and Ghost. Those two near the top of my personal favorites list. He also made going in drag sexy with his role in Too Wong Foo: Thanks For Everything Julie Newmar. In the last year, he continued to work as he headed to the small screen with a series for A&E called The Beast. My thoughts go out to to his friends and family at this difficult time.
