Disney Buys Marvel, Fantastic Four Gets Reboot

Disney made the shocking announcement on Monday that they had purchased Marvel Entertainment in a $4 billion dollar transaction. The amount included both stock and cash. Marvel is the mastermind behind most of our favorite comic super hero movies including X-Men, Spider man, Iron Man, and the list could go on. This announcement produced shock waves through the entertainment industry as many wondered what it would mean for the future for Marvel.
The dust appears to have settled a bit this morning, and it looks like things are alright. The status quo will remain between Marvel and other studios as far as past deals already made. Paramount has a deal to distribute five future Marvel releases. They will keep that - for now. Disney might want to distribute these in the future. There is even word of Marvel possibly teaming up with Pixar in the future.
It really does seem to be business as usual because early Tuesday morning it was announced that Fantastic Four would indeed be getting a reboot. Fox owns the Fantastic Four franchise, and it appears they will continue to do so. Marvel is connected to the Fantastic Four only by a licensing agreement. News of the reboot comes from Variety. Two films were made to revive Fantastic Four. One in 2005 and one in 2007. Right now it is unclear if the cast from those two efforts will be seen in the reboot.
What do you think of Disney buying Marvel? Is it good or bad?

Yes, I think it’s a bad idea because Marvel is going to lose some of the originality it had and maybe it’s going to become more political correct as many Disney franchises. Damn I can’t imagine Zach and Cody meets Spider Man.
