Abdul & Idol Go On From Stalker
Last month, a woman committed suicide in front of Paula Abdul’s home.Paula Goodspeed is said to have been stalking the American Idol for seventeen years. She auditioned for American Idol back during season six. Since the suicide, Paula Abdul has not returned to her home, and now she has plans to sell her home off instead of living there.
Abdul has been hitting the talk show circuit this week, and just last night she hit Barbara’s talk show on Sirius, and today on The View Barbara talked about it. Paula has lashed out American Idol and Simon Cowell. She says they knew about Goodspeed stalking her when they allowed her to audition on the series. She went on to tell Barbara that American Idol and Simon are trying to ruin her career.
Paula had the following to say about Goodspeed:
She has been a stalker/fan for about 17 years now. It wasn’t until ‘American Idol’ that she ever knew how she could get to me. Prior to that it was all through a fan club. Because of ‘American Idol,’ I’ve been an open target to be followed home. So the last five years have been a little tough for me.
Even with this suicide, the show will go on, and there will be no changes made in the series. Simon will continue to be upfront with his views. Season 8 will premiere in January on Fox.
