Beyonce Beats Idol Winner
The numbers for last week’s CD sales are out, and it is no big shock that Beyonce came out on top with nearly 500,000 copies of her new release, I am … Sasha Fierce sold. American Idol winner David Cook came in at third place for his debut release.
David Cook sold nearly 300,000 copies, and it was beat out for the second spot by Nickelback with their new release, Dark Horse. Cook did top the digital charts for his first week though. He sold just over 58,000 digital copies of his CD, which is the highest number sold for a debut artist.

That doesn’t surprise me at all. Beyonce is one of a kind. What does surprise me is that Cook sold so many copies.
