Movie Poster: The Wrestler
It never fails, but whenever I see Mickey Rourke, I think of Wild Orchid. Not 9 1/2 weeks, but this other sexy movie Mickey Rourke did back in the day. I somehow found him attractive in that movie, and that image of him has always stuck with me. He is trying to make a comeback it seems, and his next one is coming from Fox Searchlight, The Wrestler.
This one is set for release on December 19th, just a week before Christmas. We’ll have a trailer sometime this week, but for now we have a poster. This one has already been winning praise. It tells the story of a wrestler, Randy ‘The Ram’ Robinson. Check out the poster below. What do you think?
Uh…I’ll admit this poster looks cool as heck, but Mickey is 52 isn’t he??? I can’t imagine seeing him wrestling at this age. I saw the last “Rocky” (Rocky Balboa, 2006) and it was difficult seeing Stallone do it too. Mickey was ok in “Wild Orchid” and “9 1/2 Weeks”. I want to leave it at that. Maybe I need to see the trailer.
Stallone was hard to watch, but some wrestlers have been known to go on. Hulk Hogan comes to mind. Not sure of his age, but he was around when I was 3-4, and I’m in my thirties now.
