Police made a shocking find outside of American Idol judge Paula Abdul’s home last night. They found the body of a young woman in a car parked just yards from Abdul’s property. Suicide by way of drug overdose is suspected in the death of the young woman, and it is believed to be a known stalker of the American Idol judge.

Paula Abdul wasn’t home at the time of the discovery. The parents of the young woman had called the police early yesterday afternoon to report that their daughter was missing, and they were the ones to mention the obsession the girl had with Paula. They suggested the police check Abdul’s home.

EDIT @ 12:12pm: TMZ is now reporting that the woman found outside Paula Abdul’s appeared on American Idol back in 2006. Paula Goodspeed auditioned for the series. There is video of her audition below.

Paula has since made a statement about the discovery. She has told Access Hollywood the following:

I am deeply saddened and shocked about what transpired yesterday. My heart and prayers go out to her family.
