Recap & Review: True Blood has quickly become one of the most popular series on television, and the season is quickly. After tonight, there will only been two more episodes left of this first season to air. Last week, we had an explosive episode, but not as explosive as promised. The previews hinted at Sookie being turned into a vampire, but that didn’t happen. Sookie did learn that truth about Sam,. and it seems Bill has ended up in some hot water himself after killing another vampire in order to protect Sookie. This week’s episode picks up from there.

Sookie finds out the truth about Sam. This is something we picked up on from earlier episodes. He is a shifter, and he shifts into the shape of a dog, similar to a dog that spends time outside his bar. He tells her he can also shift into other animals, but he prefers to shift into a dog. He shifts right before her eyes, and she has the obvious reaction of shock. She is also hurt that he never told her about his shifting abilities.

He didn’t trust her enough to tell her what he could do, and he has known her for a long time. She is also upset about him and Tara. What probably upsets her the most is the fact that he tried to sleep with her without telling her what he really was. She holds a grudge towards for most of the episode, and this grudge is only forgotten when the killer comes to the bar and tries to attack her the night of the engagement party. Sam is the one to find her and stay with her.

As for Bill, he is still in trouble for killing the vampire, one of his own, for a human. He needs to go in front of a judge of some sort, and this judge has an evil streak in him. We watch as he has another vampire defanged. He has something else in mind for Bill though. He wants Bill to turn a human into a vampire. This is something Bill is not willing to do, but he is forced to do it. Her really has no choice. You can see how much he struggles with this punishment, but if he doesn’t follow through something far worse can happen.

Tara has her own problems this episode as well. She goes through with the exorcism, and she believes she is free of the demon inside her. That is until the next morning when she finds the witch that performed the spell on her at the local drug store. It was all a scam for money. Something that bothers her, but she doesn’t tell her mother. She doesn’t want to ruin what good has come from it when it comes to her mother. She doesn’t take the news too well herself though. She ends up drinking and showing up at the party drunk. After she fights with Sam, she leaves the party, and she ends up having an accident and driving off the road.

Meanwhile, Jason and Amy still have their own vampire to deal with. Amy finds out that Jason has been spending time with the vampire, and she doesn’t like this at all. By the end of the episode, we see Eddie the vampire dead after Lafayette confronts Jason on his source having gone missing. All in all, this was a good episode for the series. It is the first episode where Sookie and Bill have no contact. Sam and Sookie do appear to get closer as the episode progresses. Now that she knows the truth we have to wonder if this will change things for the two of them. To find out what’s on tv daily, check here .
