Supernatural Episode 4-8
TV.com: Wishful Thinking - The Winchesters investigate a town wishing well that really grants wishes… at a terrible cost.

Recap & Review: This week we find a town where all your wishes can come true. The episode opens up with a woman being haunted by what appears to be a ghost that haunts a women’s shower room. When Sam tells Dean of the case, he is immediately interested in it. They head to the town, and Sam interviews the woman from the shower. She tells him a very polite ghost was responsible.
Another man sights Bigfoot, and on the front of the news paper, another man wins the lottery. Sam and Dean try to find the bigfoot first, but as it turns out it is really a giant teddy bear owned by a little girl. However, the little girl tells them how she got the teddy bear. She wished for him at the wishing well. Her parents are also gone because her mom wished to go to Bali. This all starts to mesh for the brothers the more they find out.
The wishing well is located in a Chinese food restaurant, and the brothers close down the restaurant posing as health department personnel. Dean does try to get Sam to make a wish to try it out, but he isn’t too willing to do that. Once the water is drained, they find a strange looking coin at the bottom. As Dean finds out first hand, the wishes end up going bad. In a switch, Dean is the one to do the research on this case. They need to get rid of the coin, or the wishes will keep going bad. The teddy bear can’t even kill himself.
The brothers think they found the source of the coin, A couple that just got engaged. The Winchesters go to their house, and it turns out the man is a coin collector. The brothers tell him he needs to take back the wish. He isn’t willing, but they decide to kidnap him. When they reach the restaurant, the man is about to go inside when a lightning strike hits Sam. The man’s girlfriend wished for Sam to die. However, this is when the man sees he has to take back the coin. Once he does, all the wishes are void.
This episode was one of the weakest episodes for this series this season. The start was slow and unfocused, and the episode never really picked up any speed for me. Sad to say it had me wishing it was over. This was a weak point in this series for me. What did you think of this week’s episode of Supernatural? Did you agree?
