Recap & Review: Plaisir d’Amour - This is the first time I have not found a TV.com synopsis for an episode, so we’re flying blind. The previews for this week’s episode have certainly left us to wonder. What will happen to Sookie? Will Bill turn her into a vampire like him, and will they be lovers forever? She is attacked by another vampire at the end of last week’s episode, so anything can happen. That is one of my favorite parts of this series. The fact that anything can happen. I’m not a reader of the books, so I don’t know the background and history of this series. I’ve come in with a fresh mind, and I’m sure I’m not the only viewer that has done that. Coming in like this, I have still become hooked by this series. I know I’m not the only one either. This one series has become one of the most popular on HBO in just a few weeks.

This week’s episode opens right where last week closed off, and it was a bit quick to me. Bill stacks the vampire that attacked Sookie, and he showers the woman in his blood.  Sookie is practically covered from head to toe in the vampire’s blood before he falls to the floor dead. Eric telling someone they need to be turned wasn’t in regard to Sookie. A wicked trick, and a bit of a let down after how the promo for the episode played out. Bill and Eric talk, and Eric wants Sookie, but in this conversation we learn something very interesting. Bill is in love with Sookie. He won’t admit it, but we can tell by the way he looks it is true.

Sookie is still trying to clean up when Pam comes to her and gives her clothes to change into. We also see a newly glamed Ginger. All is well though, and Bill takes her home. All is not well there though as they find blood covered walls when they arrive. Someone has come in and killed Sookie’s cat while they were gone. Bill stays with her, and every time she closes her eyes she sees her grandmother Adele’s body. The two share a few quiet moments before she tells Bill she loves him. After killing the vampire to protect Sookie, this does put Bill in a position of trouble. He needs to face what he did. Eric is taking him to do that.

As for Jason, he and Amy have kidnapped Lafayette’s vampire. Jason had no idea that was Amy’s plan, and he is freaking out only like he can. He finally is talked into drinking a bit of blood Amy gives him, and he is immediately calm. These two once again trip into la la land. While they continue to talk, Amy finally confesses she loves Jason, and in a surprising moment Jason does the same. The V totally changes Jason. He goes on with his life, and so does Amy. Amy and Sookie have a conversation together, and Jason bonds with the vampire back at the house.  However, the vampire ruins it by telling Jason that Amy is a psychopath.

Tara also has a lot of issues this week. She is still thinking about getting exorcised, and she has the budding romance with Sam to contend with. She knows she can’t handle a relationship. At work, she finds money from Sam. He is willing to help her with her exorcism. She doesn’t seemed too thrilled about that. He finally talks her into taking the money, and these two might be able to make a go of it.

Sookie does catch these two in the middle of making out, and this causes her to run out of the bar. She leave Amy to finish off the rest of her shift, and she rushes off to Bill’s house. When Amy tells Sam where Sookie went, Sam goes after her, and this is where things interesting. The dog ends up with Sookie asleep in bed, but when she wakes up she finds a naked Sam on her bed. I guess we now know the dog is out of the bag.

This week’s episode began as a bit of a let down. The previews from last week suggested something more would happen in the opening moments. The episode did pick up though, and it had plenty of moments of its own, especially the final one. It also looked like Bill knew Sam was a shape shifter. He made it sound that way, and this is something that was being alluded to most of the last few episodes. You have to wonder what Sookie will think of this.
