Yes, this will be our first Sunday without True Blood to entertain us. That series rushed onto the scene, and it did become a fan favorite. There is good news though. I just read that the series will be back, and we don’t have all that much long to wait for season two. I had thought that series would return in September to keep up with the schedule it had this year, but we now know True Blood will be back in May, and this is not long after the first season hits DVD.
That is set for release on May 12, and the series will premiere its second season not long after that. I cannot wait for this series to come back. I really do need to read the books, but now I know when to have them read by! And for those needing more of a fix, here is the theme song for you below.
I’m not sure how many actresses Katy Perry has crushes on, but she seems to come out with a new one every single time she is asked about her song, I Kissed A Girl. She first said that Scarlett Johansson inspired that song. Now she is saying that she has a crush on Natalie Portman. Both Scarlett & Natalie appeared together in this year’s release of The Other Boleyn Girl, along song Eric Bana’s King Henry.
If there are any women deserving crushes, it is these two young actresses. Scarlett will next be seen in He’s Just Not That Into You, where there is buzz about her going topless already. In fact, it isn’t just topless, but full on nakedness. She is in a swimming pool, so all is covered. Damn! A second trailer for this movie just hit MySpace this week not long after the new poster was released. Check out the trailer below.
One of my favorite actors growing up was this one man, Clint Eastwood. Who hasn’t seen one of his old westerns or his Dirty Harry movies. As an actor, he is one of the best. He has always been a stand out performer, and this hasn’t changed. He still takes to the big screen, and he is about to do that again with a new feature film, Gran Turino. That is set to release this week, and they say it is one of his best performances in years. There is already even Oscar talk surrounding it.
I posted the poster and the trailer for the film when it was released because the title caught my eye. When I was growing up, my father had a Turino himself, so it brought back immediate memories of my child hood. This one puts Eastwood as a Korean War Veteran having to deal with the Koreans in his neighborhood. It actually looks pretty good, but we now know this will be Eastwood’s last appearance in front of the camera.
He announced just in the last week that he is retiring from acting. He will not be on the big screen in any more movies. He is in his seventies, so this is completely understandable. Even though he is retiring from acting, he is not retiring from directing. This is his other passion, and he has done well here. Million Dollar Baby was one of his best, and he also recently directed Angelina Jolie in The Changeling. He is amazing with what he does both behind and in front of the camera. His appearance on the big screen will be missed in the future, but we still have the collection of work he has done up to this point. Check out some more movie stills from Gran Turino below.
It seems Empire Magazine keeps releasing the goods when it comes to movies lately. First all the X-men photos I’ve been posting this week, and now we have a look at a new movie starring both Johnny Depp and Christian Bale. This sounds like a dream come true really. Two great actors in one movie. This one comes from Michael Mann, and it follows the life of John Dillinger in the 1930’s as he is chased by FBI Melvin Purvis. Depp plays Dillinger while Bale plays the FBI agent. This one isn’t set for release until July 2009, but these two pictures certainly look great. Check them out below. What do you think?

Kate Winslet has to be one of the outspoken and beautiful actresses of our time. She took off in 1997 in James Cameron’s Titanic, and she is joining up again with her co-star in that movie, Leonardo Dicaprio, in her next release, Revolutionary Road. That movie is set for release in December.
This Sunday she takes to the cover of Parade Magazine. We last saw her mostly naked on the cover of Vanity Fair. On Parade, we see her much more clothed, but she is still outspoken. She talked about her projects, her husband, Sam Mendes, and a certain revelation she had not so long ago.
We like them to see those things as a treat, as they should be-and still are to me, actually. We were having lunch, and I was having a glass of wine and eating bread and putting butter on the bread, and I turned to Sam and said, ‘I am just so happy!’

My choice this week for hottie of the week is actress Kate Beckinsale. She has starred in many recent films including Vacancy and Underworld 1 and 2. She will not be starring in the third Underworld though. She is moving on from that series of movies. The actress appeared in the British edition of Elle Magazine for December 2008, and this is one sexy photo shoot. She is just one of the most stunningly beautiful women of our generation. Yesterday, I showed you the latest from X-men Origins: Wolverine from Empire Magazine, but apparently I didn’t show you everything they had to offer. This picture is making its way around the Internet today, and it shows Taylor Kitsch in his role as Gambit. Many have been wondering just when Gambit would make his appearance in the X-Men movies. Some said they wanted him to show up in X-Men: The Last Stand. Josh Holloway from ABC’s Lost.
That never happened, but they did pick up Gambit for the Wolverine movie. If this film does well, there is already talk about an X-Men 4. We know that X-Men will live on when it comes to the small screen as well. Josh Schwartz, the man behind The OC, is looking to make a television series based on X-Men called First Class. The OC meets X-men? It’ll either be reall great or really bad!

Taylor Kitsch is probably best known for his role as Tim Riggins on Friday Night Lights, which rumors have it that the series has already been picked up for another season after how well it did on Direct TV. The series will hit NBC with its season in January. Check out Gambit below.
About a month ago, I posted the first poster for the next movie from Katherine Heigl, The Ugly Truth. The poster was different than many we see out there because it was plain but catchy. None of the movie’s stars appeared on the poster. Earlier this week, the first trailer for this one was released.
The film is another romantic comedy with Katherine Heigl playing a television executive that is forced to work with a sexist man. However, he decides to help her launch her own man. What happens next we have no idea, but this trailer looks pretty good. The Ugly Truth is set for release on April 3, 2009. Check out the trailer below.
