Recap & Review: Last week, Hank and Karen ended their happily ever after when Karen changed her mind about marrying him. This put Hank out on the street and looking for a new home. This week, Hank moves in with Lew, and after he mentions wanting to sleep with a television cooking host, Lew says he can make it happen. He knows people. After a few drinks that day, Hank thinks it is Wednesday and his day to pick up Becca. It isn’t though. This means Karen shows up, and the two have an awkward moment.

After he arrives home, he finds the tv cook in Lew’s kitchen, and this is where we see Hank go back to his old ways as he has sex with her. Once they are done, Chloe wants to tag along on their night out. Lew doesn’t want her, but she ends up tagging along anyway. Turns out she is even married, and to avoid her husband she stays with hank and Lew. Things get along for a bit until Chloe pisses off Lew and his female driver.

They drive off, but Hank has them go back because it wasn’t the gentleman thing to do. The two talk until her husband arrives, and after she is gone Hank calls to talk to her daughter. He ends up talking to Karen. She is in the middle of painting a picture of them. She obviously still loves him. It would be great if these two could make it work. The love is obviously there, but there is song out there - sometimes love just ain’t enough. The romance between Hank and Karen is a classic example of that.

As for Charlie, he is helping out his wife at her spa, and Daisy comes in. She has been blackballed by those she works with after last week’s episode. Charlie then starts to help her move on to bigger porn movies. He gets her a chance to meet the Spielberg of porn. At first, he doesn’t see Daisy as right for the role, and then when he does he lost his investors for the movie. This leads Charlie invest $100,000 to get the movie made. This doesn’t thrill his wife too much.

I knew with this episode we would see Hank slide back into his old ways without Karen. He is trying to get her out of his system, but something tells me that just won’t work for him. She is in his system, and no amount of sex is going to change that. Kind of sad. What did you think of this week’s episode of Californication?
