Recap & Review: This season of Brothers & Sisters has taken a bit of a turn. We know there is trouble at Ojai. We know that there is another Walker sibling out there, a son. We also know Holly is trying to find him for some reason. Justin and Rebecca are together, and they are out about their relationship. Everyone has their issues to deal with. This week, the episode starts with the focus on Ojai Foods. Holly and Tommy want to change the name of the company to Walker Landing. They also want to take over some orchards to make more wine. This isn’t something Sarah and Sal want any part of it, so they walk out. Tommy and Holly are on their own.
In New York City, Kitty is looking at publishers and working on her book. She knows she will have to stop working for Robert if she does publish. As for the youngest Walker, Justin is now working at an Army recruitment center. However, his methods aren’t enjoyed by those he works with. Sarah goes to Kevin for help to beat out Holly and Tommy, but he isn’t happy about that. He is working on a huge client. He even asks Scotty to come along with him, but his boss asks him to not bring him along. He looks to agree because he knows with this deal his partnership at the firm is on the line. Kevin goes to Kitty for her advice on this, but he ends up talking to Robert about it.
Back at Ojai, Sal comes in and hands Tommy, Holly and Sarah his resignation. Sarah tries to change his mind, but she isn’t successful. Sal goes to Nora, and he ponders retirement. Nora then goes to Sarah, and the two talk about Ojai. Sarah looks like she wants to quit, but she is scared of being jobless with all her responsibilities. The Ojai matters continue on as the board meets. They seem to see things as Sarah does, but she shocks her family by speaking up in support of the changes Tommy wants to make. She then tells Tommy she is quitting Ojai. Her support of him was her last act. She immediately goes to her mother, and she then proceeds to drink. Another dinner is also being had. Kevin is out with his boss and client, and he plays the straight man. He gets the account, but he having to play straight bothers him. Scotty supports him. Kevin tries to talk to his boss following the dinner, but instead he decides to keep quiet.
Back at the recruitment center, Justin meets with a man he helped save in Iraq. He wants to invite him to dinner. Justin doesn’t want to go though. Later that night, he is distant with Rebecca, and it causes an awkward moment. She just wanted to go to dinner with him to meet this man. She does end up going, and it ends up being more than just a simple dinner. There is a small party going on when he arrives. Rebecca finds out that he is there because he helped save the man’s life. Justin doesn’t like being looked on as a hero. He actually leaves Rebecca there, and he heads to the nearest bar. Justin finally returns home, and Rebecca is upset. He tells her he went to the bar, but he didn’t drink. They argue, and Nora sees it. The next morning, she helps her son with one of their talks.
At Ojai, Tommy has a change of heart as well. He doesn’t want to change their company’s name. Sarah, Sal and Kevin all spend time together. These three are all at a turning point in their lives. As is Justin. He finally opens up about his life to Rebecca. The Walker’s are all growing up and changing. Everyone does this, but we’re able to see it happen on our screens each and every week. Each member of the family and extended family is dealing with their own lives, and we get to take a small peek at that. We grow with them. Brothers & Sisters is family drama at its best, and this was another strong episode for the series.
