Recap & Review: Last week, everyone was shocked to see Sookie’s grandmother be the next murder victim to pop up. As someone who hasn’t read the book series this program is based on, I really didn’t see that one coming at all. Now Sookie and Jason have to deal with the loss of their grandmother. Sookie is the one to find her grandmother. She takes it quite hard, and Bill soon arrives on scene. The next to arrive is Sam. He came in through an open door he tells everyone.  Sookie needs to deal with all the voices in her head talking about her grandmother. Sam tries to apologize to Sookie when she leaves the house, but she isn’t too receptive to it. She sends Sam to look for Bill, and these two end up in a discussion. Sam tells Bill to stay away from Sookie.

The police and coroner investigate the old woman’s death, and she really tried to fight her killer. She was unsuccessful at it. Bill comes in, and the cops question him about Adele and his relationship with her. Bill tells the police he thinks the killer is after women who associated with vampires. He also says Adele was probably not the intended victim. By the looks of things, Bill thinks Sookie was the one they were after. Everyone tries to get Sookie to sleep elsewhere, but she is against it. She goes immediately to work cleaning up the home. Soon after this, we jump to the wake for Adele. All the voices Sookie hears makes this event even more painful for  her. When one of those in attendance goes for a pie Adele made, Sookie lashes out. Tara and LaFayette try to help her deal with it as best they can.

We soon see Jason hasn’t heard about his grandmother’s murder. He is still hyped up on V. However, he soon goes through withdrawals.  Tara and Sookie continue to talk until Jason comes up pissed off. He blames Sookie for their grandmother’s death, and he even hits her. Tara throws him out, and Sookie ends up taking a valium that Lafayette left her with. The cops are looking at Jason as a suspect. This causes Jason to push the detective. Lafayette covers for him. After that, Tara throws out everyone that came to Adele’s house. While in her bedroom, someone comes in and starts to choke Sookie. She sends a message to Bill, but he needs to wait until darkness falls to check on her. He finds her fine. Bill stays outside on his own guard, and Sam’s dog shows up as well.

At the funeral, Adele’s brother shows up, and Sookie isn’t thrilled to see him. She stands to speak, but while she is doing that everyone drives Sookie mad. She ends up running off just before Tara’s mother stands up to say a few words about Adele. She shocks everyone with what she says. Jason chases after Sookie, and he tries to make amends, but it doesn’t go well at all. Tara and her mother share a moment. The daughter is angry because her mother stood up to talk for Adele, when in the past she spoke against her. Tara’s mom is trying to change it appears. She says she has a demon inside her. This makes Tara laugh.

Sookie ends up on a walk that leads her to Bill’s human grave. Back at her grandmother’s grave, she watches Adele go into the ground while talking to Sam. He escorts her home, but she doesn’t want his company. Inside, Sookie eats her grandmother’s last pie. This puts Sam and Tara back together. She takes him to her apartment. These two end up getting closer, possibly even become a couple. That night, Sookie ends up running to Bill’s home, and the two appear to make love for the first time. He also feeds on her.

This series keeps getting better and better. We see how all the lives of those in the two are connected to Sookie, especially with her ability to read everyone’s mind. Her relationship with Bill though took one giant leap forward, all pushed by her grandmother’s death.  I really do enjoy this series though. It is different than any other series on television. Tara and Sam are also an interesting development here. Not sure I saw that going so fast. What did you think of the episode?

I loved last nights episode! I can’t wait until next Sunday. I’m curious to see if Sookie will now be a vampire! As we’ve seen in previous episodes, just because someone gets bit, doesn’t quite mean that they will be a vampire. The 2 women Jason had sexual relationships with had both been bit by vampires but neither were vampires so I’m wondering if Bill was going to bite her enough to make her immortal. Hmmm…

    to become a vampire:
1st. you must get bit and drained to the point of near death.
2nd. you must drink from the vampire that drained you.
unless both those things happen- she will not become a vampire.

We’ll have to see if he drains her to the point of near death then, because she has already drank from Bill…remember when he saved her life after she was almost beat to death….hmmm…

She drank from Bill in one of the first 2 episodes. It saved her from death

Yes, great update. Okay, my mom and I are obsessed, her thoughts are very interesting. Mom seems to think that Sam is some form of a vampire. In episode 5, the young boy that is screaming in the war (that Bill’s friend ran after to save and was shot) looks just like Sam. Also, remember how Tara said that Sam barks in his sleep? Hmmm, not sure, but Bill did say that some vampires have the ability to transform. I can hardly stand myself waiting for the next episode!

    Be well.

Oh! good point ABD!!!……..I wonder if that dog whose always running around (the long haired brown and white one) is actually Sam transformed??? I was figuring they were setting that dog up for something…just wasn’t sure what…
