Review: Last week, the third season of Brothers and Sisters started on an explosive note. Tommy fired Kevin from the family company, Justin announced to everyone that he was dating Rebecca, and apparently there is a Walker son out there in the world that no one really knew about. This week, the episode starts on a heated note as we catch Rebecca and Justin making out. He puts a stop to it because it is odd to him to move forward with a more sexual relationship with her. He ends going to Sarah with it, but she isn’t too thrilled to talk about her brother’s sex life.

Meanwhile, Kitty is preparing for the visit of the social worker to her home. She and her husband are trying to adopt, so she is in full on baby mode. However, that isn’t all she is in. She also ended up writing a book about the campaign and her husband Robert’s involvement in it. She never told him she did that though, but he finds out about it. He just doesn’t know that the book he wants her to learn more about was written by his wife. Kevin takes a brief look at the manuscript, and his immediate reaction is of shock.

Rebecca is clearly ready for more in her relationship with Justin when she suggests a night away together in Santa Barbara. However, this sets Justin into overdrive. He once again goes to Sarah, but Tommy butts in and tells him to cut the melodrama and get busy. Meanwhile, Rebecca goes to see her mother, and her mother surprises her by giving her full access to her trust fund with no strings attached. You would think this would be exactly what she wants, but it upsets Rebecca instead.

The next person to find Kitty’s book is her mother, and she has a reaction similar to Kevin. Kitty finally comes clean to Robert just a few moments before the social worker arrives at their home. The social worker questions them about their lives and marriage, and the two tell her different answers. Back in Los Angeles, Nora is more and more upset about her daughter’s tell all book. She shows it to Justin, and when he gets riled up they call Sarah and Sarah grabs Tommy. The four all read passages over the phone, and then call Kevin for him to join in.

They all want to bail on the family dinner, but Nora knows how important this adoption is to Kitty. They all go. However, they each get their digs in about the book on the way in. Everyone is mad at Kitty, which means this should turn into another explosive family dinner for the Walker family. As they begin to eat, they can tell Nora’s meal is less than perfect. Nora spills her water all over the social worker to prevent her from eating the meal, and the woman then leaves. Once she is gone, Nora lets loose on her daughter, which causes Robert to stand up and get protective of Kitty. He makes a speech that has me applauding him here. One of the best moments of this series so far in my opinion. The family leaves, and Kitty gives Robert her book.

We then jump to Rebecca and Justin at their hotel room. He finally tells her he isn’t ready to have sex, and she isn’t ready either. She tells him about the trust fund, and they then talk about sex. They both want their relationship to be different than ones they have had in the past. The next morning, Kitty shows up at home and talks to her mother. The two work through their issues, and Kitty shows her mother exactly what she thinks of her when she shows her the dedication at the front of the book.  Rebecca goes to Nora and she turns the trust back over to the Walker family.

As for Kitty and Robert, they passed their inspection with the social worker, even with all the problems. Robert also loves her book, but if she goes forward with publishing it she will have to quit working with him. The episode this week ends with Holly going on a search for Ryan, the hidden Walker herself. Another episode full of family drama and suspense. This series keeps building each and every week with events that fit this family perfectly. What did you think of this week’s episode of Brothers & Sisters?
