Review: Last week, Sookie had Bill take her to a vampire bar to try and clear her brother’s name of the two murder cases they are trying to peg him with. Trouble happens though as cops show up on scene both at the bar and on the way home. This week, opens up with Sookie and Bill outside her home. The two once again fight. Their differences show up again and again in these episodes. Sookie likes safe. Bill is anything but safe. They appear to end their relationship. Before the night is through, we see Tara go to see her cousin Lafayette about giving vampire blood to Jason. She is not too happy with him about that, especially after seeing Jason suffer at the emergency room.
The next morning, we see Sookie’s grandmother a buzz about Bill coming to her meeting. Her grandmother seems to want to have Sookie with Bill, but Sookie knows the two are too different. Lafayette goes to see Jason like he promised Tara, and he lets the cat out of the bag about Tara having feelings for him. This is what he does before he offers to show how good vampire blood could be. Lafayette promises to show Jason the proper way to use it. At the bar that night, Sookie is talking to people about her and Bill. When Sam catches on that she is on the outs with the vampire, he decides to ask her out. She says yes. The cops question her about Jason and Tara next, and she lets on that it isn’t true. She does confront Tara though.
That night, Bill comes to speak about being a confederate soldier. Everyone goes. Sam escorts Sookie, and this is something Bill doesn’t seem to be too thrilled about. Jason shows up at the meeting, and he is high on vampire blood. It takes vampire blood and the fact he is aware of how Tara feels about him for Jason to finally notice Tara. At the start of the meeting, Bill hangs up the flag that had been used to cover the cross. In his speech, he talks about how humans and vampires can work and live together. Bill also tells them about his experiences as a soldier. The mayor also has a picture of Bill as a human with his family. The photograph brings on an emotional moment for him.
Once the meeting his over, Jason heads back to the bar and talks to Tara. He tells her he finally knows it is her he wants. She doesn’t believe him though because she knows he is high on V. She tells him to come back when he isn’t on V. Sookie and Sam stay away from the bar, heading out on what looks like a date. She has more questions for him, and he doesn’t open up much. This is not new. Sam kisses Sookie, and the two argue. She won’t even let him take her home. Things at the bar heat up while they are gone. When a patron makes Lafayette mad. A comment about AIDS sets him off.
When Bill arrives at home, the sheriff and a detective arrive to question him. The sheriff thinks he is a suspect because of the sole fact that Bill is a vampire. They question him about his whereabouts on the nights the two women died, and he tells them if a vampire had killed the women, they would have both been drained of their blood. After the sheriff and detective leave, Bill goes back in his mind and remembers the night he was turned. He was only miles away from his home the night he was turned by a woman vampire that gave him shelter and food on his journey. The episode ends with a shocking development. Sookie’s grandmother has been killed.
This episode to me was probably the best of the season. We learned more about Bill, and we had some development with the other characters as well. I’m going into this without reading the book series this program is based on, so I’m coming in with no knowledge of anything. Seeing Sookie’s grandmother the next to die was a shock to me. I really do enjoy this series, and I can’t wait to see what happens next.

This show is great!! It keeps getting better every episode.
