Celebrity Today Movie Report For 9/29
It is another Monday morning, and that means it is now time for our weekly look at the movies. It has been a busy weekend for me and at the box office. Things slowed down a bit here over the weekend because I was in the middle of a move. That is now complete, so I am ready to move forward with all the latest in movie, television and celebrity news for you here at Celebrity Today. This week was a better week than the last few at the box office. We finally saw one movie hit over $20 million at the box office, and it actually almost hit $30 million.
The latest from Shia LaBeouf, Eagle Eye, took the top spot at the box office this weekend. His life has been quite interesting lately since the car accident he was in a couple of months ago. He wasn’t charged in the accident. That news came out just at the end of last week, but there is a chance he still might lose his license. The other big movie release of the weekend, Nights in Rodanthe, starring Diane Lane and Richard Gere also did well this weekend. It earned $13.6 million at the box office, which is the biggest first weekend opening for either actor since they teamed up together for Unfaithful in 2002.
This week’s releases to the big screen include Blindness and Beverly Hills Chihuahua. Michael Cera also returns to the big screen in Nick and Nora’s Infinite Playlist. We will have to see if the numbers keep going up at the box office, or if they drop back down to depressing levels like they were at in recent weeks. On DVD, we have Iron Man hitting store shelves, along with Forgetting Sarah Marshall. If you are fan of television, several series are hitting stores this week, including the entire series box set for Beauty and the Beast. Music fans also have a lot to be excited about this week with new releases from Nina Simone, Tina Turner and David Bowie. Check out after the cut for a full list of what is hitting this week.
