A Look At - Travis Barker & DJ AM

This isn’t the usual a look at segment this weekend. I was originally going to take a look at the life and work of another actress, but I am putting that on hold until next weekend. Early yesterday morning, news broke that Travis Barker & DJ AM had been on board a plane when it crashed shortly after take off in South Carolina. The plane crash was fatal for some. Four died in the crash including the pilot, co-pilot and two of Travis Barker’s entourage.
Barker and DJ Adam Goldstein were both labeled in critical condition and suffered burns to their body. Barker’s burns are mostly to the lower half of his body, while Goldstein was burned along his head and arms. A press conference Sunday morning has released that both are expected to make full recoveries. They suffered no other injuries other than the burns.
Shannon Moakler rushed to the side of Travis Barker. The two were the subject of an MTV series called Meet The Barkers, and they have children together. Moakler opted to not tell the children what happened to their father until more was known. Following the crash, Travis Barker, drummer for Blink 182, denied permission to airlift him. He had to be knocked out to be transported by ambulance. Many have spoken out about the fatal crash including Lindsay Lohan.
The plane was leaving South Carolina following a performance by the two with Gavin Degraw and others. It was headed to Van Nuys, California, but it crashed shortly after take off. Barker and Goldstein both recently appeared as back up for Katy Perry at this year’s MTV Awards. My thoughts are with Barker, Goldstein and their families at this time. This is still very much a breaking news story. Under the cut, you can see a picture of the plane.

Wow, I hadn’t seen a picture of the plane until now. I’m sad for all of them.

This is a terrible tragedy. I’m curious - what are people speaking out about? Was there some kind of negligence with the plane?
Celebrities that know those involved are sending their thoughts and prayers to them, and they have chosen to do so publicly via statements or their own blogs.
