Review: In this second episode of True Blood, we get a closer look at Sookie and her family. At the end of last week’s episode, we saw Sookie being attacked by The Rattrays. This week picks up from that point, but Sookie saved by Bill in a bit of tit for tat. Sookie had saved Bill from being drained of his blood last week when the Rattrays tricked him. Moving faster than lightning, Bill rescues Sookie, and then by allowing her to drink of his blood he heals her completely of her injuries. However, by sharing his blood with her the two are now forever connected.
We end up seeing Bill visit Sookie’s home to talk to her grandmother about the past. Sookie’s brother and her friend Tara also are in attendance, but Bill only receives a good reception from Sookie and her grandmother. The other two give him the evil eye. Once he is done with discussing things with her grandmother, Bill takes Sookie on a walk where the two get even closer together. They talk about vampires, and we learn that Sookie is even more different than before. We also learn that Bill has no control over her. The two kiss, but Bill pulls back once his other side his shown.
As for the rest of the town, we learn that Jason didn’t kill the woman he thought he strangled. She only played dead until he left. Someone came in after he left and did her in for real. This is a relief to Jason, but the cops still think he is behind the girl’s death. He is back together with his old flame Dawn, while Tara still has her own feelings for the playboy. These two do seem to share a moment or two after Bill leaves, but he seems to be caught up in the other woman. When we last see him this week, he is tied to her bed while she is off at work. This week ends with Sookie visiting Bill’s house, but it doesn’t appear he is home. His fellow vampires are, and this only spells trouble for Sookie.
This episode was better than the first. We see Sookie and Bill getting closer, and not everything is as it seems. It would have been terrible to have Jason be the killer, but the death of the Rattrays and others, there is a definite killer on the loose in this series. Just who that is we will have to find out. What did you think of this week’s episode?
