Many have been anxiously awaiting the premiere episode of 90210 on CW, and now it has finally happened. We see one man, Harrison Wilson, return to his childhood home with his family to help his mother out. He ventures into the halls of West Beverly Hills High School as the new school principle, and within the first fifteen minutes we see some familiar faces and connections to the once popular Beverly Hills 90210 that lived and reigned supreme on Fox during the 1990s.
We see the daughter of Andrea Suckerman and the sister of Kelly Taylor all grown up and as students at West Beverly. Aaron Silver is actually a major force on the series from the beginning it looks like, even taking a cue from her Uncle David, and reaching the people. Instead of a radio show like David had on Beverly Hills 90210, Silver has a blog that looks to be quite a hit with her readers.
Dixon and Annie start walking the halls of West Bev, and we see them already causing drama on the school campus as Dixon gets into a fight with members of the lacrosse team. Annie makes a new friend, who ends up being an enemy when she steals one of Annie’s old book reports. She is caught and turned in. Annie then makes friends with Silver, and after breaking up with her boyfriend at home in Kansas, she meets a guy at school that is in the school play.
Ty sweeps her off her feet and takes her to San Francisco for dinner. What a first date! However, on the way back she learns her grandmother was in a small car accident because Annie forgot to run an errand for her. While there, she meets with Etham the young man she kissed two years before and just broke up with his girlfriend after he is caught cheating on her. This series jumps right into the drama. Everything from love children coming from the past, new love interests, the return of Brenda Walsh, and the start of an all new love triangle when Ethan appears to want Annie back when she is already kissing the rich boy that took her jetsetting to San Francisco.
90210 has the potential to be just as hot as the original, and next week we see the return of Kelly’s mother. What did you think of the new 90210? Is it living up to the original or is it a dud? Tell me what you think.
