A Look At - NKOTB

Twenty-two years ago, a group out of Boston hit the scene that won the hearts of teen girls around the world. Back then, the group was known as New Kids On The Block. Individually, the group consists of brothers Jon and Jordan Knight, Danny Wood, Donnie Wahlberg and Joe McIntyre. Since the group, the five have gone on with their lives, even find success of their own with acting and singing.

New Kids On The Block were the brain child of Maurice Starr, who was also behind New Edition. They released several albums before the group broke up in 1994. Not all was well after the group parted ways, and a reunion never seemed to be in the cards. It had been brought up on more than one occasion, but I don’t think many fans of New Kids On The Block saw the group back together.

However, NKOTB has decided to make a comeback. A bit older. A bit wiser. Same music with an older vibe. Their new release will hit store shelves on Tuesday. The Block has seventeen song, a duet with New Edition, and just by looking at the tracklisting and some of the titles, I’m scratching my head a little. Reviews don’t seem to be favoring this release much, but I know fans of the group will at least go out and buy this new effort.

Growing up, I was a fan of New Kids On The Block. I bought all the albums. I even remembering having t-shirts and water bottles. Every girl had their favorite guy, and thanks to New Kids On The Block, we had groups like Backstreet Boys & *Nsync find success in the 1990s. BSB is still around today, but I am not holding my breath for an *Nsync reunion. Of course, no one was holding their breath on this reunion either. Check out the video of NKOTB at their Wal-mart Soundcheck! And as a special added bonus, here is a download of one of their songs from their new CD. Are you ready for their comeback?

NKOTB are back!

What do you mean, should they come back? They are back! And yes, reviews have been mixed but it’s just because of who they are. How do you judge an album by the song titles?

I’ve heard it, and it’s amazing. No, I wasn’t holding my breath but having them back has been a blast.

I’m not understanding all you bloggers who basically keep your post semi negative and then at the end go “Check them out!” or “I’m going to the concert!” Just freakin admit your a fan and enjoy it.

I don’t know what Christopher is talking about. NSync has never tried to come back…

Exactly, Mashia. The NK are back. They have a tremendous fanbase of old and new fans. Currently their deluxe version of their new CD is ranked #2 in best Pop Music selling albums on Amazon.com. Does this sound like this come back is going to fail? How about all the sold out concerts?

yeah, they have been out of the limelight, but their fans have been waiting, and we’re behind them 100%!
