Just Call Him Billy Bob Krueger
Rumors are floating about this week from The Movie Blog via JoBlo that the Elm Street remake is moving forward and a new man is taken on the razor sharp glove of Freddy Krueger. As with any rumor in Hollywood, we take this with a grain of salt. However, Robert Englund, the original Freddy, appeared on the radio talk show Love Line recently, and he let it slip that Billy Bob Thornton was in talks to replace him in the Freddy remake.
The original movie is a horror film classic, and I’m still not too sure about a remake, even if they do manage to get Billy Bob on board. Englund also said a remake might be a good idea because they ran out of money in the budget for the first movie. This hurt the dream sequences. As a fan of the original, I didn’t notice anything wrong. Today, they just want to keep making bigger and better classics. Movies were classics not because of the special effects, but how the story was told.

Okay, I guess technically, behind all the make-up, we could have Lindsay Lohan playing Freddie and not know, but why would Billy Bob take a gig like this? And what would a Nightmare movie be without Robert Englund? Just strange…
