The Olympian Brad Pitt
What would you do if you shared the name of a famous actor? Tell him to change his name, its yours. That is what one Australian Olympian participating in this year’s summer Olympics in Beijing has done.
Brad Pitt, the Olympian, is currently going for boxing gold. He is twenty-five years old, and he has known he shared the name of the actor since he was a kid. Now he wants the name all too himself.
Brad Pitt, the actor, has the real name of William Bradley Pitt, but he has always gone by Brad Pitt professionally. It is the name everyone knows, but now we know he isn’t the only one with the name. The Olympian is used to the pokes he gets for the name, but now he just wants to be Brad all on his own.
Earlier this week, actor Brad Pitt spoke out about the death of his Ocean’s co-star, Bernie Mac.He said, “I lament the loss of a ferociously funny and hardcore family man. My thoughts are with Rhonda and their family. Bernie Mac, you are already missed.” Brad just signed on for Inglorious Bastards, which is set to begin filming in October in Germany.
So what’s he doing about it?
I rather empathize with athlete-Brad. Bad enough when you can’t walk through the school halls without hearing someone call your name and mean someone else, but if you have to deal with “I’m in the paper–oh wait, it’s him again” on a regular basis, that’s got to be annoying.
