A Look At - Lost

I know Lost will not return until 2009, but am I the only one waiting impatiently for its return? Lost happens to be one of my favorite shows. In fact, it might be my favorite series. Sorry, Grey’s Anatomy. You know I love you, but last season kind of sucked badly. Shape up this season, and you might slide back into first place. Season four took place this year, and it took us back and forth in time. We see who makes it off the island. We see more people die.

Some of our favorites died. I didn’t want to see Jin blow up. Michael and Rousseau were killed too. As for the island, everyone is wondering where that went. It just vanished into thin air in the season finale. There are a lot of people still on the island - Sawyer, Juliet, Claire, etc. What happened to all of them? We just don’t know, and we won’t know until the show returns for season five.

This weekend at Comic Con, there was a Lost Panel. Now you would hope that the panel would give people some clues as to what is ahead for next season. It really didn’t. There was a few bones thrown out, but nothing too earth shattering. We do learn that we will see Locke and Jin again sometime in season five. Locke was in a casket last time we saw him, but that was in the future. How did he get off the island and how did he end up dead?

Looks like we will also see Rousseau again. Her story will still be told even though she and her daughter both died this season. Another little tidbit is the fate of Vincent the dog. He has been mysteriously absent, but word has it that the dog is alive and well. He will even survive to the end of the series.

We know that is coming up in the not so distant future. How will the creators wrap up things? Will we see a movie at some point? If we have learned anything about Lost and the people behind it, they really do like to keep us all guessing.

I think that is part of the reason why we are all so hooked on the series. Lost keeps us on the edge of our seats. Not every question is answered. Yes, that also makes the series more frustrating than most to watch, but all our questions will be answered soon enough. Right now, we just have to wait for the next season to start. Filming for it is said to start in August if things go well. If there is an actors strike, that date will be pushed back. What about you? Are you a Lostie?

I tried to get into this show but I think I was too late. By the time I tried to check it out, I was totally confused. I might have to get my paws on the DVDs from the beginning to undersand what the heck is going on. The delay should give me just about enough time.
