Estelle Getty: Rest In Peace

News has just broke this morning to actress Estelle Getty has died. Getty is probably best known for her role as Sophia in the series, The Golden Girls.  She had been suffering from Lewy Body Dementia, and she passed on this morning just before 6am. This news saddens me, as I’m sure it does many. Getty was a source of great laughter, and she will be missed. Estelle, thank you for being a friend to many.

    I was very sad to hear this. I was a Golden Girls junkie in the 80’s and she and Blance were my favorite characters. I heard she was actually the youngest of them all.

    RIP. She did her job and she did it well.

    She was one of the best at one liners. Her loss is sad, and she will be missed.
