So You Think You Can Dance Takes Us Down To 8

1234_so_you_think_you_can_468.jpg This week everything changed on this season of So You Think You Can Dance. Couples changed partners, and most important of all the judges have now taken a step back and they are letting the decision of who goes and who stays to the voters. This is where it is important that you jump in vote, or there is a very good chance your favorites could end up going home.

With the couple changes, we see just who is strong and who is not. Comfort, who was brought back, shined in one performance, but she flopped in another. She took her partner down with her. Twitch had done well the last few weeks with Kherington, but this week apart might end up the both of them in the bottom two couples.

The men made it harder for me to pick who should go home, but Gev and Mark impressed me the least last night. Gev did stand out in his solo though. On the side of the women, I wouldn’t be surprised based on this week’s performances if Comfort or Kherington went home. Let’s talk about the results.

The show opened with an amazing Bollywood performance, and an announcement about the Emmy’s. The make-up team and three of the show’s choreographers were nominated for Emmy’s for their work on the show. We had two more performances by the group. One by the girls, and another by the boys. These were both just before the bottom two for the week were announced. The girls went up first with a stunning contemporary routine choreographed by Mia Michaels, and the bottom two were just as I predicted - Comfort and Kherington. Comfort did just a bit better last night with her second performance.

The guys hit the stage for another performance choreographed by a mystery person. After they perform, we learn that it was choreographed by judge Nigel Lythgoe. We then learn that the bottom two this week is Gev and Mark. Again this is no big surprise to me. These were the two weakest last night. Once we know who the bottom two girls and bottom two guys are, we see them all dance solos one more time, but these solos don’t impact their results. After some judges comments, we learn that Gev and Kherington are going home this week.

Comfort has survived yet again! The only reason being her second performance. She should have left weeks ago in my opinion. What do you think? Did America send home the right dancers this week?

I agree that Comfort should have been sent home before Kherington. So she excelled at a hip-hop routine - big deal, isn’t that her speciality? Nigel is always preaching about how he expects even the street dancers to progress and learn and I haven’t seen that she has.

I hate that Gev went home - he did seem like one that was trying to learn what he could about technique - but I guess a b-boy can only last so long.
