So You Think You Can Dance: Top 12 Perform

sytycd.jpgWe are definitely heating things up as we head into the top ten of this fourth season of So You Think You Can Dance. Tonight, the top twelve performed for America’s vote, and so they will be the deciding factor on who is eliminated from the show. I’ve been enjoying the show along with everyone else this season, and I am sure everyone has my favorites. Mine so far this season is Chelsie and Mark. They have come out week after week and just dominate. Mia Michaels once again joins Mary and Nigel with the judging. Let’s take a look at tonight’s performances.

Chelsie & Mark: Fuego by Joe Bataan | I’m A Woman by Smokey Joe’s Cafe

This week, Chelsie and Mark started off the show with a hot salsa performance. All three judges thought Chelsie was amazing in this performance, especially since it was in her style. They had some criticism for Mark, but not every performance can be perfect. Chelise’s performance with him might save them from the bottom two. For the second performance, these two have a hot and heavy Broadway performance. Mia had the most comments for them. She commented on Mark’s lack of technique. She also had comments for Chelsie.

Comfort & Thayne: Can We Chill by Ne-Yo | A Different Corner by George Michael

These two are the underdogs. They are a relatively new couple, but they hit the stage with their first performance of hip-hop, and I enjoyed their performance. However, the judges saw no connection and chemistry. Mia is the only one that gave them something good, but Nigel already sees him in the bottom three. With their contemporary performance, it didn’t get any better, and Nigel had his harshest comments I’ve seen him make all season. He even knew it when he said he wished another couple had taken this routine.

Jessica & Will: Silence by Unfaithful Soundtrack | Bandstand Boogie by Barry Manilow

These two come out on stage with a beautifully erotic performance. We had Tarzan and Jane, and the chemistry was there in this performance. The judges were very impressed here. Next up, these two took on the quick step, and they didn’t do well here. The judges weren’t impressed at all. In fact, they were disappointed. Bottom three this week? In fact, Mia Michaels says it is time Will had a new partner.

Courtney & Gev: Don’t Stop The Music by Rihanna. | Standing There by The Creatures

These two hit the stage next with a cha-cha performance. This one is a little bit more racy, but Courtney had a moment with it. Once they took the stage though, these two just hit hard. The judges have some comments for them, and they aren’t the best dancers, but they are the best performers. For the second performance, they take on a jazz routine. We’re taken into the jungle with these two, and Mia at the end of it all calls them one of her top couples.

Kherington & Twitch: 2 Buck 4 TV by The J Squad | Assassin’s Tango on the Mr. & Mrs. Smith Soundtrack

Now with these two, krump is the genre, and Kherington is so far from krumping in her style, but she came out and just did well. The performance was on for the majority of it, but Nigel did comment that Kherington lost it at the end. For their second performance, the judges didn’t feel their tango at all. According to the judges comments, this was Twitch’s worst performance.

Katee & Joshua: Iris by Goo Goo Dolls | Dhoom Taana in the Om Shanti Om Soundtrack

The waltz might be the first dance these two don’t shine in. The judges had comments for Joshua, and Katee they thought was wonderful. Could she be the one to take it all? Their second performance is an all new style to the show, Bollywood. The genre comes from India.

Out of all the performances tonight, Chelsie and Mark once again stood out to me. I predict this is the end of the road for Comfort. We’re getting to the point where it is noticeable who has a shot. Who are your favorites?
