So You Think You Can Dance: Down To 12

1234_so_you_think_you_can_468.jpgLast night on So You Think You Can Dance the competition stepped up a notch as the remaining dancers had to perform twice during the night. We had some great performances, and some that were just okay. We can see some are losing the passion they had early on in the competition, and we have to wonder just how long they will remain in the competition in this fourth season. After thinking about it last night, I picked Kourtni and Thayne to go home. These two were my favorites early on, but they have just had severe problems on stage the last couple of weeks. They can dance, but the fire had gone out.

This week’s bottom three should be no real surprise. Two couples were practically sent there last night just by the judge’s comments. Comfort and Thayne as well as Kourtni and Matt hit the bottom three couples this week. Comfort and Thayne did well as a new couple last night, but not good enough for the judges or America. The last couple to hit the bottom three this week may be a bit of a surprise. Courtney and Gev have been outstanding week after week, but this week they just didn’t do well enough for the American voters.

While we waited for the solos to hit the stage, one dancer who quit during the auditions returns, and we have some off color remarks from Nigel. Could we see some type of dance battle this season because of those comments - yes! With the solos, the first up was Kourtni, and she didn’t do anything all too impressive to keep her spot.  Neither did her partner. However, the next couple, Courtney and Gev, came on stage and set it on fire. While Comfort came on stage and doused the flames. Thayne put them completely out.

The judges then headed back stage to pick the dancers they were sending home, and One Republic hit the stage with a performance of Say (All I Need). This group is hot right now with Apologize doing very well for them. We had one more break, and then the judges let America know who was going home this week. For the girls, the decision wasn’t unanimous. Nigel voted to send Comfort home, but the others voted to keep her and it was Kourtni sent home. As for the boys, this week the judges sent home Matt. Next week the top twelve will go on and perform for your vote! Are your favorites still in the competition.
