Watchmen: Posters And More

With the way they are promoting this movie right now, you would think that the Watchmen was coming out next month instead of next year. Watchmen is the next movie coming to us from the mind of Zack Snyder. Fans of 300 will remember him. The movie is set for a March 2009 release date, but this week we’ve seen a lot come out from the side of the Watchmen.

First there was posters released at Comic Con. Eight posters to be exact. First Showing had those, and these look really great. Next, Empire decided to jump into the game. They released some new pictures just this week. Today the news is that My Chemical Romance is doing a Bob Dylan cover for the movie’s soundtrack. Take a look at the posters and images below.  Click to enlarge.

So You Think You Can Dance: The Top Six

dance_logo_photoshop.jpg

We are heading down the home stretch on this season of So You Think You Can Dance. We are left with our top six after a shocking elimination last week. I don’t think anyone saw Will going home before the finale. He is definitely one of the more talented dancers this season. I saw one writer say Will is this season’s Daughtry. We saw him go home during his season of American Idol early, and he still became popular in his own right. I see a bright future ahead for Will.

This week the top six performed for the final four slots. Instead of a two hour show, we have a one hour packed show of performances. Adam Shankman joins Mary and Nigel this week on the judging panel. The couples danced twice and then each dancer had a solo. Let’s talk about the performances.

Couples

Courtney & Mark: The Time Of My Life by David Cook | The Garden by Mirah

These two are the underdogs in this competition. They are talented, but they aren’t the best left. I truly thought we would see Mark go home last week, but he is still here. Out of the three left, he is the weakest male. Their first performance was a Viennese Waltz. The performance was beautiful and graceful. In fact, the judges have nothing but good things to say. Their second performance is a jazz unlike something either has done before. It was dark and dirty. Something I don’t relate to these two dancers. This performance just might have given these two a shot at the finale.

Katee & Joshua: All By Myself by Celine Dion | Filet by La Reve
These two were amazing early on in the competition together, and it is great to see these two together again. For their first performance, they had the most chemistry, power and passion I have seen all season. These two are a force together. In fact, I think with this performance, Joshua might have just knocked Twitch out of first place for me. Their second performance, a pasa doble, is even better and hotter than the first. Joshua has no classical training.  Yet, he is doing very well. Amazingly well. These two are magical together, and Mary even said this as well. Nigel said Joshua could steal the show if he continues like this, and I completely agree.

Chelsie and Twitch: Ahora Me Toca A Mi by Victor Manuelle | Control by The Vitamin String Quartet
If you followed well, you know who the last couple is this week. Twitch and Chelsie team up, and their first performance is a mambo. This one is totally out of Twitch’s zone, and it shows a bit. However, Chelsie just took control of things. The judges loved her. As for this couple’s second performance, it was fun but I’m not sure it was the best for this point in the competition. The other two couples shined more than the others. I love Twitch, but Joshua outdanced him this week.

Solos

Chelsie: When I Grow Up By The Pussycats Dolls
Twitch: Midas Touch by Midnight Star
Katee:  Can’t Stop by Maroon 5
Joshua: Like That by Memphis Bleek
Courtney: Rock Your Soul by Elisa
Mark: Bum Like You by Robyn

This week just blew everything away. All the dancers danced their best, and it is making it difficult for me to choose my favorites. I think Katee and Chelsie are the best girls left. The boys all stepped up this week, and I can’t pick two to move forward. Mark’s one performance really made him stand out, and Joshua stepped it up big time this week. What do you think America? Who had your vote?

New Kids On The Block Release Single

Published by Regina Avalos under Music Edit This

Another new song from the reunited boy band, New Kids On The Block. This one is named Single and features rapper Ne-Yo. It doesn’t really sound like the New Kids On The Block I know. It is completely different than their first single Summertime. Thanks to I’m Not Obsessed for sharing this first. Take a little listen here. What do you think?

Hudson Solo Again

article-1028678-01b5c05d00000578-238_468x417.jpg

US Weekly reports that the three month relationship between Kate Hudson and Lance Armstrong has come to an end over the weekend. One source says the split was amicable, but Pop Sugar says the two fought last week and didn’t speak for five days. Hard to tell what to believe these days.

Kate had been spending a lot of time with Armstrong, following him around to his appearances when her own schedule allowed. The two spent Father’s Day together with their children, and the two were seen getting cozy at Cannes.

Kate just doesn’t seem to have luck when it comes to men. Am I the only one that has thought maybe she just isn’t over her ex, rocker Chris Robinson? Professionally, Kate signed on for the next musical from Rob Marshall, Nine.

First Friday the 13th, Now Elm Street?

nightmare6.jpgWe all know a new Friday the 13th is set for release in February 2009. Now word out of Comic Con this week is that there might be another horror movie remake on the horizon. Shock You Til You Drop has word that we might see the return of Freddy Krueger to the big screen in an all new remake.

However, Wes Craven will not be involved with this one. In fact, he was also at Comic Com doing another panel, and he hadn’t even heard about the possibility of a remake. This received some negative comments and actions from those in audience.

I know I am not the only one that is getting tired of all these remakes. Nightmare on Elm Street, the original movie, is a classic horror film to me. The movies in the series that followed didn’t have nearly the same bite or feeling as the original did. They were fun and campy. Not as scary. The original was a favorite of mine. They need to start leaving these movies online, or as the song from the movie goes - 1,2: Freddy’s coming for you …

A Nightmare on Elm Street remake is not set in stone yet, but with the amount of remakes being made these days. Anything is possible. What do you think?

Wordless Wednesday - July 29

Because sometimes you don’t need to say a whole lot to get your point across. I see a lot of pictures while I surf around, and sometimes it would be nice to share those with you too. So sometimes I’ll just go wordless or as wordless as possible. To all those fellow wordless that stop by, hi!

Sarah Jessica Parker was just named to Vanity Fair’s Best Dressed List. What do you think? Does she fit the title?

Earthquake Rocks Los Angeles

Yes, this is a celebrity news blog, but when a major earthquake hits Los Angeles, productions in Hollywood are affected. No word on damages or injuries so far. The earthquake was centered 29 miles east - southeast of downtown L.A. in Chino Hills and it happened at 11:42am PST.

They are calling this a major seismic event. The last major seismic event in Southern California was the Northridge Earthquake in 1994, which I lived through. This one jolted people a bit.

Any new developments in regards to studios or celebrities will be edited in as needed.  To all my readers in the area, I hope all is well.

EDIT @ 12:38pm: Earthquake has been downgraded to 5.4.

Mayer Covers Petty

Found this one over at PopDirt. John Mayer has covered the classic Tom Petty hit, Free Fallin’ on his latest live CD/DVD, Where The Light Is. I’m a fan of Tom Petty and John Mayer. I didn’t think I would like this cover, but it isn’t half bad. Take a look at the video and listen to the song for yourself here . Embedding is disabled. What do you think?

Ugly Betty Stars Adding To Their Families, Brad Pissed

That is the news from Us Weekly and People on Monday. Rebecca Romijn, the Ugly Betty and X-men star is set to deliver twins sometime this winter. People is reporting the twins will be girls. This is something the actress had been wanting, but with her character on Ugly Betty being a transsexual, it would be hard to explain a pregnancy.

Back in May, the star did announce she was taking a step back from the series and her character would be going into recurring status. Romijn wasn’t happy with the way things were shaping up on the series after some behind the scenes changes. The series has since moved its production to New York City.

Rebecca is married to actor Jerry O’Connell. Best of luck to them on the coming additions to their family. Romijn isn’t the only Ugly Betty star expecting though. Chris Gorham and his wife are also planning to add to their family this winter. They are set to welcome a baby girl in January. This is their third child.

In news about the other twins just born into the world recently, it seems Brad and Angelina have asked Bono to be the godfather to their new arrivals. Apparently the two spent the week after the birth of the twins in Bono’s home. Things seem to be getting heated in France.

Back on Friday, paparazzi dressed in army gear sneaked onto their property and were taken down by Brad and Angie’s security. Brad is said to be livid! He might even sue. Hopefully we have pictures of the new arrivals soon, so that we don’t have any more incidents like this one.
