Word From Saturn

293lost030708.jpgNo, not the planet. That message would take a long time to get here. Earlier this week, the Saturn Awards were held in Los Angeles. These awards are for those in the Sci-Fi, Fantasy and Horror genres. Those genres have had a busy year, and this year’s winners are a mix of movies, television series and talents. Everyone from Lost to 300 is represented in this list of winners. Jennifer Love Hewitt won for her role in CBS’ Ghost Whisperer. Production has started up again on that series after the fire at the Universal backlot ravaged two of its exterior sets earlier this month.

The news now really isn’t the winners of the awards, but the information that has come out from behind the scenes. We have information about new movie ideas bouncing around at the moment. The ideas aren’t new ones though. Yes, this means more sequels. Word has it that we might see a Cloverfield 2, and either a prequel or sequel to 300 sometime in the near future. Zack Snyder won the award for best direction on Tuesday night.

We all know how I feel about the constant remakes and sequels. There are too many of them being made. Some movies you need to go the sequel route for. Twilight being one of them. It is a series of books. It is only fair that each book is made into a movie. The first is highly awaited and will be out in December. I don’t think we really need a second Cloverfield or another 300 though. That’s pushing it, but what do you think?
