Iron Man Hits $300 Million
The first of the summer movies to hit the $300 million mark is Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man. Some suspected that Tony Stark might cross that line on Thursday, but the number was reached back on Wednesday, which was its forty-eighth day out. The next movie set to cross that line is Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. That movie is just around $280 million, and it has earned over $638 in total.
Movies are a growing business, and there are several set for release in the weeks ahead that all want to reach that number in ticket sales. Let’s talk movies for a second here. Which summer movies are you looking forward to the most? I was waiting anxiously for The Incredible Hulk, and now I am impatiently waiting for the release of The Dark Knight and The X-Files 2.
My brother is excited the see Hellboy 2: The Golden Army, which to me doesn’t look as good as the first Hellboy. I’ve always loved Ron Pearlman, ever since he played Beast in Beauty & The Beast opposite Linda Hamilton back in the late 1980s. Anyone remember that television show? He seems to do well in character roles where he doesn’t look human. Everyone has their niche and that is his.
Now its your turn out there. The summer has just begun, and we have a long way to go. What movies are you waiting to see?
