SYTYCD: Week 2 Performances
We’re into the second week of competition in this season’s So You Think You Can Dance, and we have the top eighteen dancers dancing their hearts out for your vote. Last week, Rayven and Jaime go home. Who is going this week? Before we answer that question, let’s talk about this week’s performances.
The show opened up with a jazz performance that left me really cold. Chelsea looked robotic, and Thayne didn’t look like a King at all. The next dance, an Argentine Tango, was loved by the judges, but this was another I just wasn’t feeling. The first performance of the night I found myself enjoying was the hip hop performance by Will and Jessica, but Jessica did receive some criticism from Jessica.
Kourtni and Matt were up next. These two were my favorites last week, but they didn’t do much for me this week, and the judges agreed. My favorite of the night up to this point are Courtney and Gev with a lovely contemporary routine. However, the best of the night is probably the Broadway routine by Joshua and Katie. The worst performance of the night for me was the salsa routine by Susie and Marquis. Like the judges I expected so much more from her in this routine.
One of the last performances of the night caused a bit of problem between the judges. Kherington was commented on by Mia Michaels about her smiling during the entire performance. Their waltz was a special performance, and it was looked at quite harshly by Mia. The night ended with another great performance by Comfort and Chris. However, Nigel didn’t appreciate Chris’ performance at all. Check below the jump for a full list of songs used on tonight’s show. Now who do you like this week?
