SYTYCD: Week 1 Performances

Published by Regina Avalos at 9:08 pm under Music, Television Edit This

so-you-think-you-can-dance-so-you-think-you-can-dance-34967_500_375.jpgFor the past few weeks, we’ve been watching the auditions, we saw their own personal version of hell week where two hundred dancers were brought down to a group of twenty last week. Now it is time to put the So You Think You Can Dance dancers forward to compete for America’s vote. At the end of this fourth season we will have one dancer win. This week, we had ten couples dance it out, and with any competition you have your favorites. Mine this week are Kourni & Matt. They performed a fun dance number to Tainted Love by Soft Cell, and were soon followed by Chelsea T and Thayne with a hotter than hell cha-cha performance.

I’m hoping we see these two couples continue on. If you missed the songs performed on this week’s show, and you want to go out in search of them, this what you need to look for in order of performance.

Song List

American Boy - Estelle feat. Kanye West
Dark Waltz - Hayley Westenra
Tainted Love - Soft Cell
Oye Com0 Va (Latin/Trance Mix) - Celia Cruz
Beautiful - Me’Shell Ndegeocello
Too Darn Hot - Kiss Me Kate (2002 Revival Broadway Cast)
Boom Boom - Big Head Todd & The Monsters
No Air - Jordin Sparks & Chris Brown
Tango - Cirque Du Soliel
Boogie Wonderland - Earth, Wind & Fire

What do you think of this week’s performances? Who has your vote? Who is going home this week?

I loved the number that Mia choreographed (that Mark and Chelsie did) and Katee and Joshua’s hip hop number was also a favorite from last night.
