Holy Cow Prince Is 50!
Yes, folks. The purple wonder turns 50 today, and it is making me ask myself where in the world does time go? Prince has been around for a long time. He’s been performing and putting out music since the 1970s. He’s also done a few movies, and he’s dated some of the hottest women I’ve seen on this planet. Not only has he put out his own music, he has written and shared many of his song creations with others. This man is tiny in size, but he is very big in personality. He is also quiet. Soft spoken, but that voice of his is recognizable anywhere.
Over the years, I have been a fan. It started with Purple Rain. No, we will not get into an eight year old going to see that movie. My parents had no idea it was so sexual in nature, and by the time we were there in the moment it was too late to just get up and leave. It is still one of my favorite movies to this day. The music from that one soundtrack dominated the 1980s. He went on and made a few other films, but Purple Rain was by far his best venture into acting.
Prince is known for being outrageous in both his music and actions. This is the man that asked the world to call him by an unpronounceable symbol as a name, and he wrote slave across his face when he had troubles with his record label. He isn’t even afraid to let his butt hang out. He did this one year on MTV when he performed in yellow butt less pants. There are so many songs of his I’ve loved over the years.
In honor of his birthday, here is my top five favorite Prince songs. Share yours in the comments!
